Description Job Description · Actas a safe practitioner, demonstrating clinical excellence. · Beresponsible for the management of a ward and unit in the absence of a moresenior member of staff.  · Actas an associate nurse delivering the care prescribed by Doctors.                                ·  Attendrounds with Consultants, present the patient condition note down and implementinstructions. · Tobe responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation ofpatient’s care needs as required. ·  Risingof various requisitions related to treatments and Nursing procedures. ·  Ensureaccurate documentation care. · Ensureeffective use of evidence based care and demonstrate commitment to, andparticipation in, research and audit. · Ensurethe effective use of organization’s resources in the delivery of patient care. · Co-ordinatewith ward secretary regarding admission discharges of patients and billingactivities.·  Co-ordinatewith other departments related to care. ·  Workin accordance with the Organization, National and Local standards. · Beresponsible for effective communication with patients, careers, otherdisciplines and agencies. · Workin a collaboration and co-operative manner with other health professionals. ·  Toparticipate and contribute to departmental quality initiatives.·  Tobe aware of departments performance and objective. ·  Tocarryout data collection/support in data collection. ·  Toadhere the safety norms of hospital and follow both patient safety and staffsafety rules. ·  Toperform any job/task as and when assigned by the superior. ·  Ensurethe safety and well being of patients, staff and visitors to the clinical area. ·  Beresponsible for the supervision and development of junior staff working withinthe team. ·  Tomaintain confidentially at all times in accordance with the organization. ·  Tobe responsible for continuing professional development of self. ·  Ensurecompliance by self and staff with the organization’s policy on confidentially. ·  Toensure self and staff maintain a constant awareness of health, welfare andsafety issues affecting you, colleagues, patients and visitors, reporting andaccidents or fault in line with the organization’s policy. ·  Tofully participate in health and safety training. ·  Toparticipate in personal training and development, including the appraisalprocess and attend all relevant training courses as required. ·  Thepost holder may be required to undertake other duties as required, which fallwithin the grading of this post, to meet the needs of this new and developingservice. · Takingcare of all equipment in particular costly equipment on use with patients.CRITICAL CAREUNIT 1.   She should be able to performan accurate, systematic assessment of patients who are critically ill, based onclinical and laboratory data.2.   She should use appropriatemeasures to meet the psychosocial needs of the critical care patients and theirfamilies.3.   She should be able to performan accurate, systematic assessment of patients who are critically ill, based onclinical and laboratory data.4.   She should use appropriatemeasures to meet the psychosocial needs of the critical care patients and theirfamilies.5.   She should have the knowledgeon using mechanical and electronic life saving equipment required in the caseof critically ill patients.6.   She should be able to initiateindependently life saving procedure when a patient’s condition warrants.7.   She must have thoroughknowledge on preventing and control of hospital acquired infection.8.  Ensure thorough knowledge ondrug calculation, administration and drug action.9.  She should have clear knowledgeon therapeutic diet and total parenteral nutrition. EMERGENCY 1. She must be aware of MLCprocedures, ambulance services and various procedures done in Emergency.2. She must have knowledge ontriaging the patient.3. To be ready to manage disaster.4. To participate in thevaccination programs and health camps conducted by our hospital.  Apollo Speciality Hospitals - OMR - Chennai |
