Viasat was founded in 1986. Today, we have over 5500 employees globally. Job Responsibilities - Translate end-user / customer needs into end-to-end systems requirements- Understand details of underlying technology and product capabilities- Develop system use cases and drive system architecture

Generate verifiable product level requirements from high level system requirements- Establish relationships and coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams to align end-to-end system requirements- with product roadmaps- Support and drive development and service delivery- Own the creation and management of systems engineering activities- Ability to travel up to 25%.

Required Skills : - Overall 15+ years of experience in communications technologies with 5+ years in Product Management, Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Communications / Networking system architecture and design experience.- Must have hands on ability to run experiments and simulations.

Hands-on design experience with data services including knowledge of protocols such as Layer-2 / Ethernet, Layer-3 / IP / TCP / UDP.

Patents Preferred.- Experience with control plane and / or data plane in virtualized environments / private / public cloud- Deep experience and working knowledge of products that have been deployed in a wide variety of ISPs- Intellectual capacity to absorb a tremendous volume of information and analyze it- Learning agility reflected in a body of lifelong learning- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

You will be required to communicate both verbally and in written form with remote international teams very frequently.- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent technical background and experience Preferred Skills : - Masters with specialization in Networking and Access Technologies - Academic coursework in a few the following areas : Digital Communications, Broadband Communications, Communication Theory / Systems, Computer networks - Exposure to network sizing, measurement monitoring tools and analysis.

Hands-on experience working with satellite / broadband access network (DOCSIS / WIMAX / DVB-S2X) is a plus. - Linux experience and Programming skills in C / C++ / Python is a plus
