TE Connectivity’s Software Systems Engineering Teams provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software operating / automation systems, including, but not limited to, utility, development, and diagnostic software.
They perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost, risk, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
The Systems Software Engineer will report to the Electronic and Sensor Integration Team Leader, Energy and will be a member of the Electronic and Sensor Integration Engineering team and responsible for design of products and sustaining engineering support for existing products.
The role will support all TE Energy product lines including Crompton Instruments (Power meters), Cable Accessories, Insulation & Protection and Connectors & fittings for LV, MV & HV applications.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
All aspects of the software development life cycle :
Feasibility study and architecture definition
Software design & implementation
Integration and validation test
Core team member of project teams to develop new products / processes from seed to market place using LDFSS tools, techniques, TE Project and metrics
Support product compliance and approvals for all new products and platforms as required by our customers.
Work closely with Product Management, Sales and customers on the identification and development of new products
Provision of technical product support and training to our manufacturing, sales organizations and customers
Be a strong technical partner and provide support to Product management teams. Attend / support customer meetings, technology days and site visits as required.
Recording results of design reviews and design decision meetings and report writing
Education & Knowledge
Computing / Electrical / Electronic Engineering Degree
3 to 5 years’ experience in an R&D environment
C / C++ programming
Web development using Java script
Event driven application development
Software development life cycle
Continuous process improvement
Self-motivated individual with the ability to work under minimal supervision is crucial.
Flexibility to travel internationally to visit customers, development partners and suppliers.
Proficient in MS Office suite
Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables
Strong customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time and within company cost and profitability objectives.
Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with own team, customers, internal business leaders and technology leaders to create value.
Individual must be self-motivated and require minimum supervision, have strong planning skills and be able to deal with and balance multiple competing priorities
