The India Power Grids Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 900 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning.

However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub within PG Division and HVDC and FACTS engineering center outside ABB Sweden.

The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids division’s Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports ABB units in more than 25 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid division.

To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 60 countries.

Your responsibilities

As a Sales Support Engineer-Technical Writer for INOPC PG you will be responsible for-

  • Create communication program for Marketing and Sales.
  • Develop, implement and maintain communications programs and messages including marketing communications, publicity, editorial support, web content, and direct marketing to educate and inform key stakeholders in close coordination with Marketing communication to support marketing and Sales managers.
  • In liaison with the division Communications Manager, coordinate the development of an editorial and communications calendar for Power Grid Marketing and Sales Communication materials.
  • Support sales operations with team communications materials including presentations, speeches, articles, and employee recognition.
  • Support sales operations team with the creation, production and publications of sales process guidelines, training documentation, channel & account management brochures.

  • Your background

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or any related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-8 years of experience in technical writing.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Good project management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design skills.
  • Professional printing / publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally.
  • Proficient English language skills.
  • Experience with database software / web applications.
  • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility and resourcefulness.
  • Passion, integrity and energy.
  • Strategic marketing and analytical skills.
