Job Description

STRATEGIC BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

Incumbent is accountable for leading OH&S Management System at site with following key account-abilities.

  • To acquire OHSAS 18001 : 2001 certification, by fulfilling all the requirements and providing guidance and support to other functions.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for defining and guiding entire site with the standard.

  • To prepare annual site OH&S improvement plan, monitor regular progress and effective implementation.
  • Develop and / or approve HSE program descriptions which specify the local procedures and methods that are used to assure conformance with regulations, best practices.
  • To ensure compliance with local regulatory and PepsiCo OH&S requirements. Maintain effective liaison with relevant Government offices and act as point of contact to fulfill all the requisites.
  • Facilitate all departments of the plant to develop, implement, monitor and track the KPIs and provide guidance to establish measurement standards.
  • To ensure site comply with Contractor Safety Program, provide guidance and coordinate with different functions for effective implementation of the program.
  • To ensure integrity of Fire Fighting system all the time by regular monitoring and checks of the hardware. Provide Firefighting, Emergency response training and conduct drills to test adequacy of the site capability.
  • To ensure that all new operations, processes, and procedures comply with local regularity as well as PepsiCo standards.
  • Provide expert inputs at the proposal, scope and design phases of projects and initiatives

    Environment Compliance / EMIS :

  • To lead and sustain OHSAS 14001 certification by fulfilling all the requirements and providing guidance and support to other functions
  • To ensure that all the solid, liquid and gaseous wastes leaving site are in 100 % compliance with all the National Environmental Quality and PepsiCo Standards.
  • To ensure smooth operation of Waste Water Treatment Plant by supervising day to day activities through Environmental Technician and contract staff.
  • To Manage Environmental Lab operations and ensure accurate and regular testing is performed. Develop and implement Lab proficiency program.
  • To act as EMIS (Environmental Management Information System) Super User for site by providing guidance and training to all the EMIS users.
  • Ensure uninterrupted availability of EMIS all the time.

  • To ensure adequacy of WWTP to fulfill future PepsiCo Environmental Standards by identifying bottlenecks in existing process.
  • Liaise with consultants to make proposal and scope for debottlenecking and ensure to include in Site Master Plan.

  • Ensure technical training and development of Environmental Technicians for routine plant operation, ETP Lab testing and troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for completely understanding, rolling out and ensuring compliance with all global, PGCS, regulatory as well as plant specific policies, procedures, systems and programs, essentially covering Safety, Environment, Sustainability, Waste Management, Organizational Health and subsequently achieve full compliance with the requirements
  • Implementation of OSHAS 18000 requirements and aligning the plant team
  • Approvals from Statutory as per the acts
  • Comply with all the required reporting & documentation protocols in EHS, EMS, and Resource Conservation requirements rolled out by PGCS.
  • Other Jobs :

  • Understand technical operations of plant and act as Site’s EHS lead.
  • Should ensure all the projects undertaken are complying to site’s EHS standards.
  • Compliance to all Quality, Safety and Environment Management Systems in the plant like ISO, EHS, HACCP, BQA etc.
  • Must have good reach to people & demonstrate good team work culture
  • Qualifications / Requirements

    Qualification

    A graduate engineer with certified course on EHS with minimum 6-8 years of experience in EHS

    Work Experience

    Must have good knowledge on Plant’s health & safety Policy’s. Person should be good team working skills & developing one o one connect within Plant & PGCS locations for excellence in execution & replicating the best practices on site.
