A new and exciting opportunity has arisen in our vRealize Automation Engineering team for an experienced customer facing Solutions Engineer to join our growing Adoption Excellence Team focused on customer engagements and product development initiatives to drive increased adoption of our vRealize Automation Cloud suite of products.

In this role you will work directly with customers, partners, field sales, delivery and product development teams to help ensure the successful incubation, adoption and enablement of VMware’s integrated cloud management solutions and services.

You will be a trusted advisor to our customers, have technical savvy, be an out of the box thinker and have the ability to drive and engage multiple stakeholders to translate and communicate business requirements into a customer solution.

You are highly organized, through and motivated understanding the importance of being a strong team player and a leader when it comes to forging lasting relationships with our customers.

You will be a key partner for engineering teams and will work closely with early adopter customers as well as assisting post sales and deliver to customers who require advanced architecture, designs and services.

Your knowledge and experiences will also be leveraged as a part of continuous feedback loop to drive architectural best practices and tooling required to increase adoption, retention and overall customer satisfaction, as well as to help create new, and improve existing features in vRealize Automation products.

  • Influence the success and adoption of VMware’s vRealize Automation product.
  • Be an acknowledged expert in vRealize Automation as well as gain experience in other workload provisioning and orchestration technologies, including configuration management tools such as Puppet / Ansible / Chef / Salt.
  • Develop and document innovative customer solutions based on hands-on knowledge of the entire VMware product line with a specific emphasis on vRealize Automation.
  • Work with existing VMware customers who have CMBU solutions deployed to understand how those solutions are working for the customer, helping to make changes to improve business outcomes
  • Gather detailed business and technical requirements from customers and field teams to create specifications that enable the team to implement precise post-sales solutions for customers.
  • Work with VMware Field and R&D partners to investigate, pinpoint, diagnose and resolve issues in customer deployments.
  • Derive lessons learnt and issues diagnosed from customer engagements, and work with R&D and Product Management to drive those lessons back through the product development process, resulting in improved CMBU products and services.
  • Work as part of the Adoption Excellence Team on engagements with customers, often in a supporting technical role to ensure customer retention and to drive customer value realization.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the entire VMware product line with special expertise on vRealize Automation and vRealize Orchestrator, with familiarity in vRealize Suite components.
  • Take full ownership of assigned customer engagements, to the point where you feel responsible for the success of the customer’s deployment addressing their business problem.
  • Document best practices in developing and deploying VMware management solutions, and feed them into our knowledge base for reuse by customers and partners.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical work experience
  • 4+ years of industry experience in development and / or customer facing roles
  • 1+ years of experience in customer facing positions as a professional services Solutions Engineer
  • Hands-on / working knowledge of VMware vRealize Cloud Management products
  • Domain level understanding of Public / Private Cloud Infrastructure & Networking
  • Knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals, algorithms, data structures
  • Experience with modern software development methodologies
  • Programming abilities in Java, Perl, Python, Unix shell / Bash, Windows PowerShell or advanced vRealize Orchestrator coding capabilities (Javascript)
  • Familiarity with deploying and analyzing behavior of Java-based and related enterprise software technologies (RabbitMQ, Tomcat, Nginx, )
  • capacity / performance management and tuning; and storage and network management
  • Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and communication skills
  • Adaptability to change, comfortable in a fast paced environment
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira Core, Confluence)
  • Strong practical Windows Server or Linux systems administration skills
  • Experience with DevOps tooling and methodologies
