The primary responsibility of this position is to effectively manage IT infrastructure systems across our global offices.
The candidate should make sure that all relevant data is properly collected and stored, this can include performance metrics, service levels, server status and both planned and unplanned system outages.
Depending on the company's protocol, a Sr. Manager will need to deliver the report / data as asked by the management on a regular daily, weekly or monthly basis.
Familiarity with technologies such as Windows server, Exchange, operational systems, data networking, cloud is required including experience with storage area networks, WAN acceleration, virtualization, firewalls, routers and more.
It's essential for the Sr. Manager to be a people oriented person with interpersonal skills in order to effectively lead and manage the company's IT Infrastructure department.
Promotes and maintains Server patch management practices
Performs application impact analysis. Analyze the application traffic patterns and determine the impact to production links
Liaise with vendors for warranty claims, operating system bugs and feature upgrades and roadmap activities
Proven ability to motivate a team and encourage them, making them efficient enough to troubleshoot and quickly resolve network issues
Forecasts demand for storage, computing and network capacity and takes appropriate action before capacity limits are reached
Be responsible for maintenance of IT hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals etc
Define, implement, test, and maintain data back-up protocols to ensure availability
Acts as an escalation point for the rest of the staff (India and overseas) and works with senior members / management to ensure that service provision meets both SLAs & expectations
This position is operationally responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and security for all IT systems and infrastructure
Architect, monitor, and maintain Server Infrastructure, WAN / LAN / WLAN, firewall supporting business-critical systems and in regards to configuration and security
Make sure IT governance, audit and compliance requirements are met
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation
Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software.
Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, and so on
Oversee the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights. Direct and administrate the team and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action
Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on
Work on AWS
As a head of the department, one will have to take care of the review meetings (new joiners / existing ones), performance management, training schedule, escalating the persistent issues in the team etc
