The Project Manager acts as entrepreneur for the project.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution and closure of a project to develop and industrialize a product that meets (internal or external) stakeholder requests, within agreed budget, quality and timescale.

He ensures proper communication and ensure information flow within the team and all project stakeholders. The Project Manager

  • controls the profitability of the product according to the awarded conditions and the project approval.
  • uses defined processes and methods to monitor, control and report project status and product maturity according to milestones (Gate Reviews).
  • defines and implements appropriate countermeasures to contain risks and overcome issues
  • manages change and problem resolution activities, including impacts to project timing, budget and risks.
  • Authorities

  • Internal and external representative regarding all aspects of the project.
  • Control of project budget and assigned project resources.
  • Right to claim committed resources.
  • Has a voice in team staffing and right to reject team members.
  • Plan, assign and control of work packages.
  • Overall project status light setting.
  • Evaluation and acceptance of project changes.
  • Prioritize work within project, in order to achieve time, cost, profitability and quality targets.
  • Escalation of risks and issues to management in case of RED status.
  • Prepare management decision with analysis results and proposals for solution.
