Job Requirements

Essential Functions :

Responsible for delivering documents or document libraries of moderate complexity

Collaborate with senior staff and stakeholder to develop a documentation plan and execute as per the plan.

Write and edit task- and workflow-oriented operational, instructional, and maintenance procedures.

Update and maintain existing content, manage content publishing issues.

Ability to work across the NetApp portfolio, demonstrating the ability to switch contexts.

Requirements :

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Excellent command of standard American English syntax and grammar.

Strong technical skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of other writers, editors, and cross functional peers to support deadlines.

Ability to understand and follow NetApp publication standards and production processes.

Responsibility and Interaction :

Responsibility : The types of tasks you will be responsible for are well-defined. You will utilize and build understanding of standard practices within a team environment.

You will begin to build a specialty within the functional area and better understand NetApp’s systems.

Interaction : You will interact primarily with Staff to Director level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects.

There may be communication with employees in other functions as required. You will receive general direction on routine work, and detailed direction on new projects and assignments;

there will be on-going review of activities and priorities. You will be an important contributor or lead on team projects.

Education and Experience

A minimum of 2 years of technical writing experience is required. 3 to 5 years of technical writing experience is preferred.

A Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree in English, Journalism, Computer Science or Engineering is required.

Preferred experience : DITA and XML authoring tools Familiarity with wiki or other lightweight markup languages like Markdown or AsciiDoc GitHub Experience in writing video storyboards and scripts;

experience with producing video content Experience with social media and blog authoring

Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
