Department Overview

Team Member Technologies (TMT) within the Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) business comprises of Enterprise Endpoint & Mobility Services, Enterprise Messaging & Collaboration Services, Technology Connections and Specialized Desktop Support Services.

TMT integrates electronic communication and collaboration platforms to offer the next generation of content collaboration solutions.

About the Role

Participates in the research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of large and complex networks to support company wide voice and / or data communications systems.

Performs or manages large / medium network design upgrades and hardware reconfigurations. Participates in the evaluation of vendor proposals, conducts network studies and traffic analyses, develops network designs, prepares forecasts of network traffic and capacity, and recommends modifications to the network configurations that reduce costs or improve service.

This team member serves as a high level technical resource, on large-scale voice and / or data communications issues

Responsibilities

The team member will join the EUC NETWORKING / TMMS / EGS supporting multiple lines of businesses located throughout the enterprise network in large / medium admin sites.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to) : Provide technical support and consultation associated with all network systems.

Execute changes into the above environments via the WF change control process outside of business hours, assist on mitigating risk for the enterprise by proactively addressing capacity problems or system related issues, participate in enterprise level projects from an engineering perspective, responsible for creating / updating network designs, responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and researching industry best practices.

Market Skills and Certifications

Essential Qualifications

8+ years of experience in in network support, design and implementations. CCNP R&S, CCNP Voice Certifications preferred

Strong knowledge of routing protocols and their internetworking : OSPF, BGP, EIGRP

Strong knowledge of complex switching network and Layer 2 protocols, including convergence mechanisms such as STP,RSTP,MST, VTP, 802.

1q trunking, ether channel etc.

Strong understanding of QoS configurations to support the WAN and enterprise standards.

Strong understanding of IPSLA, IOS upgrades and Netflow network configurations

Strong understanding of the following : HSRP,VRRP,GLBP, QOS techniques, LLQ, CBWFQ, DSCP, TCP / IP, Multicast, Ethernet and other networking related concepts / failures

Strong familiarity with the following WAN technologies : Carrier provided MPLS VPN connectivity, optical transport solutions such as DS3, OC3, OC12, OC48 and Ethernet WAN solutions.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computers or Electronics with 7-8 Years of Networking Experience

CCNA,CCNP Certification preferred

Strong understanding of QoS configurations to support the WAN and enterprise standards.

Strong experience in installing Cisco Routers / Switches in the field

Strong understanding of the following routing protocols : OSPF, BGP, RIP, EIGRP

Strong understanding of the following layer 2 switching protocols : Spanning Tree, Trunking, Ether channel, multilink etc..

Strong understanding of the following : HSRP, CBWFQ, DSCP, NAT / SNAT, TCP / IP, Multicast, Ethernet Strong familiarity with the following WAN technologies :

Carrier provided MPLS VPN connectivity, optical transport solutions such as OC3, OC12, OC48, DWDM, and Ethernet WAN solutions.

Experience and familiarity with Change control processes.
