As a Software Engineer with a Product Focus, you are essential to that future. You will work closely with designers to build the backend which powers an infrastructure that receives millions of API calls every day.

We're looking for software engineering generalists who are excited to build our backend (mostly Rails we're huge fans). Our small team is providing the data infrastructure for thousands of companies and processing millions of API calls every day.
Our customer base has been exploding and our infrastructure doubling every six months, so we have a number of challenges on both the product and backend side.
You will :
Build and ship new features and systems, with an emphasis on code quality, maintainability, readability, and testing.
Scale web API methods and real-time chat services to handle 100K+ rpm.
Write and review code and technical designs. Onboard new engineers.
Understand and integrate with third party APIs (Slack APIs, Mailchimp APIs, Atlassian APIs, Salesforce APIs).
Triage and fix bugs. Collaborate with others in troubleshooting and addressing production issues.
Develop expertise and own parts of the application, while working full-stack and cross-platform.
Take part in brainstorms to help set product direction and think up the next big thing.
About You :
You are proud of your code, and stand triumphantly over finished projects while beating your chest, and calling out your battle cry of, "Oh, this?
Yeah, I made that." You are someone who "gg n00bs" on the regular? We want you.
You take full advantage of Postgres with a trigger-based time machine, SQL views, and look for opportunities to switch from ActiveRecord to raw SQL when it makes sense.
You embrace test-driven development and love to use technologies such as RSpec or Capybara or similar for writing both unit and functional tests.
You get excited about deploying to production multiple times a day and collaborating daily with your team while working via a distributed model.
You're willing to help your teammates, share your knowledge with them, and learn from them.

Proficient in Ruby on Rails
You're an incessant problem solver and tougher the problem gets, more fun you have.
You've proven experience in the past to showcase the previous point either in your past work experience or during study courses by getting involved in open-
source projects (like GSoC etc).
You love to own end to end responsibility, starting from defining the problem statement (either yourself or alongside your peers), development (PoC if needed), testing, releasing in staging & then production env and finally monitoring.
Bonus Points for :
Experienced with and passionate about working on products with customer traction. This can be at a big company, a small company, or a side project!
CS Degree, experience hacking on Open Source or building apps people love. Many of our best engineers don't have a degree;
some didn't even go to high school!
