Role Description : Salesforce deploys and manages some of the largest and most trusted databases in the world. Our customers rely on us to keep their data safe and highly available.
We are looking for a database administrator / engineer to help build data systems that enables us to keep up with the fast paced demands of running hyper-scale cloud services.
You'll collaborate with product owners, top-notch architects and engineers and world-class database administrators to run our massive database operations and to design and implement our next generation database systems.
As a Database Administrator, you will be part of Marketing Cloud Pardot team to run database operations at hyper-scale, tuning workloads, automate operation, build new infrastructure, solve scale, and transactional load related problems.
You will also be responsible for designing and implementing new data systems on public clouds such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Responsibilities : You will be working with a global teamto run our massive database operations, and to design and implement next generation data systems.
You will also be involved in automating operations and continuously improving and innovating the current tooling. Database operations at hyper-scale Author tools that manage infrastructure and perform database upgrades, migrations, platform upgrades, topology changes, tenant migrations etc.
Build, automate and deploy highly available, robust, resilient and secure database solutions. You will actively participate and influence the roadmap of Database tier through automation on Capacity Planning, Database Performance, Monitoring, Scaling - and EVERYTHING else that enables our services to delight and deliver for our customers.
Works in conjunction with multiple teams to make sure that the infrastructure and the applications that depend on it work harmoniously together.
Designing, scaling out services in our multi-tenant infrastructure. Ensure the database operations are compliant and work with Auditors to provide evidences requested for various compliance standards Document all operational processes and procedures to optimize support and management of deployed systems - demonstrate proficiency in establishing repeatable processes.
Take responsibility for the availability and reliability of our services. Participate in technology architecture discussions and planning with internal partners and senior leadership.
Communicate status, risks to schedules and offer mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery of projects. Required Skills / Experience : Bachelors / Masters Degree or Higher in Computer Science or related field with 6+yrs experience in database administration.
In-depth knowledge and experience managing and supporting MySQL and ProxySQL In-depth knowledge and experience managing and supporting Aurora, and RDS Experience in managing infrastructure using Chef and Terraform Experience in managing databases at scale ( 100+ nodes) Experience in running high available data systems At least 3+ years professional development experience and capable of developing and implementing DevOps best practices.
Strong automation and scripting development experience Ability to learn quickly and deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, agile team environment Excellent verbal communication and technical documentation skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong knowledge of GIT Strong knowledge in CI / CD pipeline Preferred (but not required) : Experience or Knowledge in Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible.
