About the role :

The person hired in this role will be a part of the In Force Pricing and Analytics team in Bangalore, and will have a great opportunity to apply his / her technical actuarial, modelling and data analytics skills across a wide variety of activities outlined below.

The role offers an opportunity for out of the box thinking while working on solutions to a broad range of challenges. The resource will work in collaboration with colleagues in our In Force Management team and with subject matter experts throughout Swiss Re, both locally and within EMEA, and indeed globally.

Furthermore, the resource will contribute to data analytics projects and support the development and commercialization of new innovative solutions.

The job responsibilities include the following :

  • Perform actuarial analysis of portfolios in run-off to be commuted and determine the price for the scope in question.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers on commutation deals, as well as in providing actuarial insights on their portfolios
  • Develop new and maintain existing pricing tools either independently (Excel and VBA based) or in a project team with other team-members and IT
  • Participate in pricing projects
  • Contribute to data analytics projects with the team
  • About the team :

    The Bangalore In Force Pricing and Analytics team is part of the Bangalore P&C Reserving Hub and falls under the Global Actuarial P&C Re function.

  • Required Education and Skills

  • Academic Background in Science (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science etc.)
  • Minimum 7 actuarial exams and continuing to write in the future
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in the P&C actuarial domain reserving / pricing / risk management / capital modelling
  • Strong IT skills Excel and VBA knowledge required, knowledge and experience with R or Python an advantage.
