Job purpose :

Increase in energy trading in markets affecting power & utility companies has an impact on short- and long-term contract prices, on price volatility, on the choices faced by market participants and on the regulatory landscape governing markets.

With Indian Power Markets moving from a regulated structure to a free and competitive market, and the evolution of spot market has begun to impact the way electricity generation is planned and operated.

Competition in the market is gradually breaking the silos of conventional market structures and ways of trade. This started to pave way for a new expertise which calls for application of advanced analytics to make informed decisions to operate in the and optimization of portfolio.

You should be a self-starter with high motivation and will be responsible for assisting our core team of consultants on their assignments with cutting edge analytics and market modelling.

The profile includes working with consultants in extending the current operational realm of market players in the power / energy sector to as to imbibe technology and improve efficiency through technology and innovation.

You will serve as a programming expert responsible for creating programs that will automate and simplify the existing process.

Required Skills :

2-5 years of experience in Python / Java programming in production-grade systems

Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases like MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB

Familiarity with Deployment on Cloud (AWS / Azure)

Ability to design, build, deploy and support end to end ETL processes

Strong Data Structures & Algorithms concepts

Web scraping experience using Scrapy / Beautiful Soup / Selenium library.

Knowledge of Data visualization tools such as Tableau / Power BI will be a plus.

Working conditions / Location : The base location would be Delhi, however he / she would be required to manage projects at client site.

Direct reporting : Software developer reports directly to Sr. Manager - Utilities and to the Mercados Partners at regular intervals.
