Description : This position is for THAAD Interceptor Propulsion Engineering supporting both Production and Development efforts.
The position will assume Senior Mechanical / Propulsion Engineering responsibilities to include serving as the primary technical lead for development, procurement, integration, and test of products at suppliers and at final assembly.
Day-to-day responsibilities will primarily focus on production and development efforts supporting multiple sites including those engaged in machining, composites production, propulsion design and final assembly.
Specific duties will include drawing preparation, requirements / concept development, detail design, manufacturing process development and improvement, development testing and discrepancy resolution.
Additional tasks will include support to producibility-, affordability-, and obsolescence-driven re-designs.Basic Qualifications : Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent-
Basic understanding of missile, launch vehicle, spacecraft, or aircraft Mechanical or Propulsion design and fabrication principles-
Experience drafting standards and commercial CAD software-Experience working with other disciplines including Production, Manufacturing, Test, Analysis, Electronics, etc.
to drive hardware design and production activities through delivery-Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Defense (DOD) security .
Desired Skills : -Prior experience in a Certified Principal Engineer or equivalent technical lead capacity-Experience using PTC Creo2 or equivalent CAD software-
Familiarity with PTC Windchill configuration management software-Familiarity with SAP enterprise resource planning softwareExperience with ASME Y14.
