The mission of this role is to accelerate Visteon’s reputation for technical excellence by leading the hardware architecture of power electronics to deliver a scalable, high-quality product design and drive future-state hardware technology roadmap priorities .

How You Will Spend Your Days

  • Managing the scheduling, prioritizations, workload, and quality of deliverables of a group that is establishing the mechanical architecture of electrification products. :
  • Managing global platform-level mechanical architecture group’s decisions
  • Developing innovative and reliable platform solutions that meet customer requirements
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap that reflects organizational, market and customer demands (including manufacturing processes, interconnection technologies and thermal management technologies)
  • Monitor design activities (at the product and component-level) with internal / external stakeholders (including third-party suppliers) and develop mitigation plans when needed to meet cost, timing, and quality targets.
  • Evaluating, refining, and deploying design documentation templates and guidelines
  • Interfacing directly with customers as needed to gather intelligence and / or facilitate technical presentations
  • Training and mentoring lower-level architects to develop skills to quote, design and deliver successful products
  • Assisting the purchasing team to manage product supply
  • Helping to define technical solution during RFQ processes :
  • Reviewing customer RFQs, generating compliance matrices, evaluating technical feasibility, and supporting quote creation
  • Architecting solutions that meet customer requirements during the quote process
  • Reviewing and approving quote and program architecture decisions
  • Assisting pursuit teams to assemble / present quotes
  • Leading technical Design Reviews during program quotes
  • A Successful Year One

  • Complete the global staffing of the group.
  • Win target percentage of electrification pre-pursuits and pursuits
  • Establish basic Architecture Platform standard documentation
  • Technical Knowledge, Skills and Experiences

  • Minimum five years of Global team management experience in mechanical engineers designing electronics modules for the automotive, electrification or aerospace for high volume products
  • In-depth experience in automotive domain with focus on Electric Vehicle or Power conversion space with power electronics and vehicle electrification at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
  • In-depth experience of product architecture development of mechanical system, thermal systems, and electronics packaging.
  • Demonstrated history of bringing electronic modules from concept to mass production
  • Direct customer experience in both advance development, quoting and delivery phases
  • Strong experience in interacting with internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master’s preferred)
