Job Summary :

Provides actionable business intelligence to the organization used to make informed business decisions supporting strategic initiatives and driving increased revenue, profit and market share.

Conducts industry research, analyzes external market data and identifies emerging business trends to support the competitive intelligence needs of the company and its operating groups.

Utilizes data to evaluate the organization’s competitive position within industry.

Principal Responsibilities :

  • Develops reports and other tools to deliver internal company information enabling business users to make informed decisions.
  • Uses external industry data to identify business trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Gathers, aggregates and models critical industry related data to forecast changing market variables.
  • Analyzes information from multiple external sources regarding company financial performance, customer insights, competitor profiling, competitive threats, potential product or technical expansion, industry trends and other such business intelligence aspects.
  • Organizes research and analytical results into concise presentations, narratives and consultative opinions to be presented and / or utilized by senior executives.
  • Promotes the use of analytical tools and methods in the business decision making process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Extensive knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts. Complete knowledge of all job functions and the broad industry best practices, techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems where analysis of situations and / or data requires in-depth evaluation of variables.
  • Determine best approach to achieve results and provide suggestions to improve policies and procedures.

  • Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
  • Work may be reviewed at a high-level.

  • May represent the organization as a primary contact on assignments and / or projects. Interacts with senior professionals and management and frequently coordinates work between departments or organizations.
  • Actions may impact the organization. Failure to accomplish work will result in the inability to reach crucial organizational goals.
  • Erroneous decisions may have a prolonged effect resulting in the expenditure of substantial resources.

    Work Experience :

  • Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.
  • Education and Certification(s) :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
  • Distinguishing Characteristics :

  • Analyse the demand patterns and create a Demand construct at SKU Level
  • The role works in close partnership with buyers and demand planners to drive optimum inventory levels to support sales growth and service.
  • Building reports and dashboards for decision making on uplifts / down lifts basis inputs from Web metrics, Customer Behaviour and Marketing / Product Teams.
  • Managing complexities of channel behaviours, category ambition vs channel reality, seasonality
  • Effective communication with all relevant stakeholders to achieve data analytics set-up on all demand plans.
  • Periodical review of demand proposition and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyse forecast accuracy and identify and implement process enhancements to improve these KPI’s.
  • Champion the development of change / additions to current processes.
  • Monitor data trends and regular report to drive key decisions.
  • Identify demand drivers with the changing economic landscape, external data and evolve the process of forecasting
