Amazon is growing its external payments operations aggressively in India. In this context, the Amazon Pay India team is looking for Sr.
Business Development Manager Government Business who will be responsible for managing all local and national government accounts for Amazon Pay.
You should be an effective communicator, quick to learn new tools and systems, and flexible in the face of changes. Our environment is fast-
paced and requires someone who is comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.
Your responsibilities will include helping to define key government and public sector market segments to target, building the necessary business and technical relationships with customers and partners to impact Amazon Pay business in those market segments, and drive the day-
to-day interactions with prospects in order to build long-term business relationships. You’ll also work closely with the product / service teams to help them evolve the products / services and address issues, concerns, and requests from the field.
Your success will be measured by the no of merchants, the payment volume & the revenue your sellers bring on the platform.
The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the high level government officials as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with product managers and technology teams.
He / She should have a consistent track record of business performance. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.
In addition to driving business the candidate will also be responsible for the following activities :
Serve as a key member of the Business Development team in helping to drive India government - market and technical strategy.
Participate in Government procurement process through tenders and RFPs
Help define the APIPL government and public sector undertaking segments, customer base, and industry verticals we target.
Set a strategic business development plan for target markets and ensure it's in line with the APIPL strategic direction.
Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. product team, solution architects, marketing, legal, etc.)
Fill the business development pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key APIPL customers.
Work closely with the merchants to ensure they are successful while using Amazon Pay.
Prepare and give business reviews to the management team regarding progress and roadblocks.
Develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of key markets.
Experienced with account management in Government, PSU and Non-Profit sectors
Experience with payments or ecommerce retail would be an advantage.
Should have experience in a results-oriented environment.
Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to manage the business by the numbers .
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Has the ability to express thoughts logically.
Demonstrated active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions-oriented.
Experience selling nascent (embryonic / start-up) products / services into new markets is desirable.

More than 5 years of experience in sales and post sales / business development
Bachelor's degree required, MBA is preferred
