The Role :
Mechanical engineering within the Powertrain Drive Motor team focused on stator design.
This position requires working closely with electrical engineers who develop the electromagnetic lamination and winding pattern.
Our motor needs to deliver high performance, efficiency, and power density.
You will need to work closely with manufacturing teams and winding equipment vendors to develop a robust design.
As part of the design team, you will also continue to support production and cost down activities to broaden your knowledge and feedback to future designs.
Mechanical design and testing of electric drive motor for current and future EMF-Innovation Motors.
CAD design of machined parts, casting, stamping, plastic, etc.
Work with electrical engineers who focus on the electromagnetic motor design.
Analysis and optimization with equations and FEA on thermal and mechanical modeling.
Ownership of components from concept, design, testing, validation, and production release and support.
Collaboration with supply chain, vendor and manufacturing engineers.
Continuously evaluate new technologies and design improvements to develop the most power dense, efficient, low cost, and reliable electric drive motor.
Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering within a product design and manufacturing environment.
Experience in electric motor stator design or manufacturing preferred.
Detail oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills.
Minimum of 5 to 10 years mechanical Design and Hands on Production & Production interface engineering experience.
Preference will be given for dynamic Design Engineers with extensive experience in designing Powertrain components for Automotive vehicles.
Proficiency in CAD modeling, Analysis, Design and Simulation tools is Paramount.
BE in Mechanical Engineering. ME preferred.
