Position summary :
The GDS are various service delivery centres from which EY Client Service and Enablement Services teams operate to deliver strategic support to EY member firms.
GDS spans all geographies, practices, services lines, sectors and competencies within EY to deliver deeply-integrated services that result in efficient and world-class solutions.
As the GDS Senior employment lawyer you will be responsible for all employment law related matters of GDS across the GDS centres in Poland, India, China, Argentina and the Philippines.
You will be working closely with the other members of the GDS Legal Team, as well as business stakeholders in all GDS locations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of employment lawyer will be to work alongside the Talent teams, to assist and advice on all aspects relating to employment / labour law and employee relations issues to the relevant stakeholders.
The incumbent in the role shall :
Possess sound understanding on all employment / labour laws and advise the relevant stakeholders
Closely work with the relevant Talent teams to review employment contracts, advise the stakeholders about the employment rights, while recommending any legal actions.
Proactively work on all employment matters that have a potential legal exposure and mitigate such risks and non-compliance
Create documents of support relating to employment law and employee relations, including memos and template letters, required as per law
Mediate between employees and employer; and represent clients in courts in civil lawsuits against employers.
Support the organization with required legal requirements by attending grievance and disciplinary proceedings
Support the organization with the required legal requirements on the POSH matters and wherever required with the Internal Committees.
Document all counsel given in the relevant tools and thereby provide insights / status to the leadership on all legal cases, pending and closed
Sound knowledge and understanding of the employment / labour laws and the ability to translate into practical advice for the stakeholders

Agraduate / post graduate degree in Law from a reputed Institute / University
Professionalqualification / certification with specialisation in Employment / Labour Law ispreferred
Anoverall experience of 12+ years in the Legal / General Counsel incorporates / business organizations
Lastthree years should have been in the employment / labour law area working closelywith the HR division of the firm.
