We are seeking an experienced editorial leader well versed in the IT and business technology domain, who has written at an expert level on IT / Business Technology and can manage a full-fledged digital publication.
About the Team :
The editorial team at Ziff Davis B2B is responsible for creating industry-leading content for our global audience of marketers (MarTech Advisor), HR professionals (HRTechnologist) and IT leaders (Toolbox).
We are now part of a global brand, Ziff Davis, which increases the reach and prestige of our flagship brands.
About you :
You need to be able to fully take charge of the in-house content generated for Toolbox Tech. This individual would need to be an accomplished writer, who can edit with ease, and sound authoritative with respect to business technology and all the new themes in the business applications of IT.
You are someone who would leverage their interest in emerging technologies from AI to RPA, Cloud to Security in order to craft compelling content for our audience of technology professionals.
You would have :
Deep IT / business technology industry knowledge and experience
Ability to write long form content such as white papers, eBooks, guides; as well as short format features / 1000-word articles
Must have written for digital publications and know how to manage the editorial deliverable sof a digital B2B publication
Ability to guide the overall editorial strategy and editorial voice of toolbox
You must value expert insights, bold ideas and intellectual courage. You must be a fast learner who can multi-task and handle multiple streams of data and communications.
You must be able to imbibe and formulate content quickly and, in the form and format required. You must have an enquiring and curious bent of mind.
You also need to be well versed in modern modes of media and communication e-mail, social, etc.
Strategic Areas of Focus :
a. Editorial strategy : Working closely with Editor-in-Chief for all content and editorial strategy
on the publication : monthly analysis and reporting on what is working and what is not, course correction, content innovation, etc.
b. Own and maintain the editorial calendar : Ensure we are writing about popular / resonant topics; track website performance and course correct the editorial calendar based on what is working.
Keep it updated at all times.
c. Creating premium editorial assets and sponsored content such as eBooks, white papers and research reports
d. Manage execution of editorial calendar. Ensure we are on track with the content as per the predefined timelines.
e. Mange writers : Mange the performance of junior and senior writers with respect to quality, quantity and timelines.
f. Subject Matter Expert : Act as the resident SME for all things IT and technology.
g. Performance metrics : Track / measure the performance metrics, interpret the results and recommend improvements to content strategy based on the insights.
Day to Day activities :
1. Editorial QC for all editorial content : From articles, news reports and press releases to guest author contributions, freelancer articles, interviews and all long form content ensure the quality and standard, the substance and depth of the insight, the SEO factors and the grammar are in place where required.
2. Supervise team members, freelancers or agencies contracted to write features and articles as decided in the editorial calendar, on time and as per the standards.
QC the same / SEO the same. This includes editing their articles, providing feedback, tracking timelines, tracking deliverables, etc.
3. Writing original, well-researched content, which is search optimized : (Including getting quotes from practicing professionals on the topic to inform the articles.)
