About the Job
As a Senior Analyst at Silicon Valley Bank, you will work for the bank of the innovation economy. You will have the opportunity to work with the Global Finance Officers and support them through research and analysis of data to develop their knowledge and suggest methods to improve the practices and processes.
As a Senior Business Analysts you will provide solutions involving the implementation of new, or improved systems, and familiarise the FP&A team with the benefits of newer technology and instructing colleagues on how it is to be used.
You will play an integral role in enhancing the financial planning and analysis process. You will assume a high level of ownership, be analytically minded with a strong focus on detail, and be committed to quality deliverables.
You will provide FP&A system support while collaborating with business unit teams to understand system needs and enhance system processes as needed
Once here you will
Ensure ongoing accuracy and validity of the Axiom EPM system by owning and executing on key operational functions. This includes reviewing the functions periodically for ongoing pertinence / accuracy along with change control processes when updates / changes are needed or requested by system users.
Examples of key operational functions are :
Hierarchy Maintenance (Account, Department, Product, etc.)
Driver Table updates
System period open / close / rollforward processes
Plan file updates
Utility maintenance (including updates, retirement, and creation)
Budget / forecast uploads
Create / Implement new driver models
Run allocation process and maintain allocation keys
Ensure system continues to function properly by proactively monitoring system interfaces (specifically for Axiom and Rapid ABC), verifying completeness and accuracy and resolution / escalation of system issues as they arise.
As system updates are available, lead the effort to implement these system updates, ensuring proper UAT is performed to minimize impact to end users.
Partner with IT and end users to investigate and resolve system issues as they arise.

The ideal candidate will have / be
5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a finance-related role with demonstrated success working with internal and / or external clients
Hands on finance technology experience in a corporate or consulting environment (Hyperion Essbase, Peple Soft GL, Axiom EPM software experience preferred)
Engagement in execution of Strategic Initiatives
Understanding of project tracking and systems development practices
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to details
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines while providing quality results
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in corporate finance, accounting or economics
