The PMO Analyst is accountable for successful delivery of projects within a project portfolio. Regularly checks demand / projects to ensure they are on track to meet schedule, budget and functional commitments while assisting with the creation of executive portfolio reporting deliverables.

Responsible for monthly budget reconciliation and forecasting to support the yearly AOP process and status. Responsible for supporting continuous improvement of PMO processes, training, and coaching project managers to optimize performance.

Reporting to the PMO Governance Senior Manager.

  • Assist with the administration of the Project Management tool (Planview).
  • Support design, documentation, and implementation of new PPM standards.
  • Reviews and audits projects for process adherence.
  • Maintains and delivers project analysis and reporting for project team and PMO Leadership.
  • Monitor and report on actual and projected spend to demonstrate function operates within FY Plan / Outlook function, portfolio and program / project levels.
  • Perform detailed reviews of PM artifacts such as charters, schedules, RAID logs, reports, etc.
  • Work with the Service Delivery Team to understand their portfolio, business strategy, prioritization, etc. to facilitate quality service delivery.
  • Ensures projects / programs meet objectives, including budget and schedule.
  • Oversees the execution of key ideation lifecycle steps to ensure projects complete the ideation process with accurate schedules and budgets.
  • Trains team members on project management methodology.
  • Seeks out deficiencies and works with PMO Leadership team to continuously improve project management methodology and toolset.
  • Assist project recovery efforts when needed.
  • Enhances and maintains training materials, templates, forms.
  • Assist in the implementation and embedding of process, methods and best practices into service delivery activities for the function, including project management, financial management, resource management, etc.

  • Education

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business
  • Work Experience

  • Experience in Planview and / or other Enterprise portfolio management software.
  • 3+ years of experience, including demonstrated project management and financial management experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate preferred.
  • Project delivery experience in a similar IT environment.
  • Experience working in a global IT environment.
  • Experience in the automotive and / or manufacturing industries a plus.
  • Experience managing projects or teams in both Waterfall and Agile methodology.
  • Resource planning experience.
  • Experience in end-to-end financial management plan, forecast, actual function, portfolio and program / project levels a plus.
  • Specialized Skills and Knowledge :

  • Excel / Word / Powerpoint / MSProject, and PPM (Project and Portfolio Management) Toolset experience (Planview experience preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to facilitate large groups through common set of meeting objectives.
  • Ability to deliver presentation and training material.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional basic knowledge in one other language German, French or Spanish is preferred.
  • Goal oriented and driven to meet project deliverables deadlines.
  • Ability to excel within a matrix organization and working virtually.
