The role will support the development of insights on the strategies of global energy industry players as they direct their businesses through the Energy Transition to a lower carbon future.
Specifically, the role will track clean technology investment activities (M&A, joint ventures, research and development, and corporate venture capital) adopted by oil & gas companies, utility companies and other classes of investors in the Energy industry.
The technologies and energy solutions to track will include; renewable power generation and transmission infrastructure, energy storage, carbon capture and storage, mobility and others.
The candidate will have interest in the development of the Energy sector and be willing to focus on certain clean tech or industry player segments, for example Power / Renewables, as well as excellent research ability and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (medium to advanced level required).
Responsibilities : + Track and analyze Clean Technology M&A deals and M&A market trends relating to Power / Renewable and / or related sectors, as well as capital investments and R&D spending.
Periodically highlight key findings, trends and conflicting information / data for EI analysts' review and attention + Collaborate with energy professionals in other global locations, contribute to research and production of subscription and consulting work products + Manage client communications describing IHS services and supporting Sales team (in time) Requirements : + Reading and writing skills in international business English, good communication skills, and a natural bent for multi-tasking and good organization + Strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail + Strong communication skills both written and oral + Strong research experience with good grounding in Power / Renewables domain (M&A transactions).
degree in business / engineering / sciences / math is a plus + 4+ years of prior experience as a business analyst or relevant related field.
