Overview of Market & Client Insights Team and the Role

Our mission is to provide research and

insights regarding markets, clients, prospects, industries and competitors to

drive revenue growth through more effective sales, marketing, and innovation.

The Market & Client Insights team in India works across the WTW

geographies, segments, lines of business, industries and business functions.

The M&CI Senior Advisor is expected to work across these business units

on a range of projects from information services, standard & custom

research to business topic research and strategic initiatives. It is a

research generalist role that is expected to steadily build expertise on

specific research competencies, hands-on knowledge of datasources and WTW

industries, products and business segments in its progression path.

Job Overview

The team provides a range of services from

information access and delivery (utilizing a number of 3rd-party research

subscriptions and WTW proprietary research and data) to primary and secondary

research for more complex requests requiring multiple sources and potentially

multiple methodologies. Key deliverables include market assessments, company

and industry profiles, competitor and competitive analyses, and market trend

reports.The role requires a

combination of strong research and analytical skills, communications skills,

and business acumen in order to participate in and lead research projects as

well as engage with our (internal) clients.

  • Data Collation and information gathering on core projects
  • Conduct research and information gathering for requests with quick
  • turnaround time

  • Conduct secondary market research including industry, company and
  • competitor research

  • Use specialized databases to support research and information needs
  • of consultants

  • Develop familiarity with markets and WTW clients through focus on risks
  • and business trends

    Major Accountabilities

    Responsibilities include

    but are not limited to :

  • Proficiency in using external research sources, e.g. One Source,
  • Hoovers, Factiva, Lexis-Nexis, Bloomberg, etc.

  • Development of PPT reports documenting study scope, methodologies,
  • key research findings and data analysis, as needed

  • Basic project management as needed, including managing of timeline
  • and milestones.

  • Managing several research projects simultaneously
  • Develop specific market, industry and competitive knowledge which
  • will help in compiling research reports on specific topics, standardised

    offerings OR bespoke research

    Hard skills :

  • Ability to comprehend, decode and cull-out essential information
  • from varied data sources and generate crisp, insightful and relevant reports

    for stakeholders.

  • Exposure to one or more of the following sectors i.e. BFSI,
  • Healthcare, Retail, Telecom & Media, Lifestyle / Leisure, Construction and

    Real Estate.

  • Ability to use Google extensively, proficiency in free internet
  • search

  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken, is highly desirable
  • Strong MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, Access PowerPoint)
  • Basic statistical and excel-based analysis for projects and reports.
  • Ability to develop recommendations and insights based on research findings
  • and represent as graphs, reports and presentations, as needed.

  • Familiarity and working knowledge of languages like Spanish, French,
  • German, Portuguese, etc. would be an added advantage

  • Minimum Criteria & Skills (including education & licenses)

    Qualifications :

  • University degree in any
  • stream

  • An outstanding academic
  • record with exposure to Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research

    or Finance would be preferable

    Experience :

  • About 2-3 years of consultative research experience in an
  • in-house research team OR with a Captive / KPO firm OR with a third party

    customized research agency serving multiple clients and experience in the B2B


  • Knowledge of Insurance
  • Industry and its dynamics OR sectors like Oil and Gas, Construction,

    Aerospace, Marine, etc. OR segments like Talents & Rewards, Human Capital

    Benefits, Risk & Broking would be an added advantage.

    Minimum Criteria & Skills (including education & licenses)

    Qualifications :

  • University degree in any stream
  • An outstanding academic record with exposure to Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research or Finance would be preferable
