Description : Emerson Automation Solutions is actively seeking a candidate to fill an Engineering Manager position in our Pune, India office to manage a team of professional engineers responsible for the development, design and implementation of engineered flow solutions across global projects within the in refining, petrochemical, chemical and related industries.
The Engineering Manager is a key member of the Flow Center of Excellence (COE) team responsible for the accurate, quality and consistent engineering execution of project deliverables from the COE across all disciplines as well as driving engineering solutions to complex solutions that align with global execution model.
Candidates must have experience managing teams of people in a diverse, fast paced environment as well as collaborate with engineering and management resources within other world areas.
The Engineering Manager must have experience developing good working relationships with other project team members as well as client technical and management personnel to which they interface. Job Responsibilities :
Leads Engineering Department activities to design new productized solutions, modify existing designs, improve design for manufacturability, and develop test procedures as applicable.
Drive a culture of innovation that evaluates and deploys new technologies or best practices that steam line process, improve project execution performance and improve profitability.
Responsible for analyzing technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects and resource forecasting.
Responsible for the engineering processes and deliverables from the COE across all disciplines that are Fit for Purpose and that ensures timely and efficient completion of projects in alignment with organization quality processes.
Responsible for project deliverables that are Customer Ready as well as consistent across all world areas eliminating all Unnecessary Uniqueness.
Leading the continuous improvement activities within the engineering team to drive a culture of continuous improvement culture as measured through deliverables and execution performance.
Responsible for the department engineering work processes that insures timely and efficient completion of projects in alignment with organization quality processes.
Responsible for leading and developing employees.
Leads change in engineering processes in accordance with industry standards and changing customer and internal requirements.
Works to drive zero defect processes.
Develops solutions to engineering problems by analyzing, interpreting and evaluating various precedents and data. Anticipates potential problems and takes preventative actions.
Attends appropriate industry related professional society meetings and functions to stay informed of and make good use of new technology, products and personal development opportunities.
Assigned responsibility for accurate completion and communication of organizational goals and initiatives.
Candidates shall have demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and assign work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrated knowledge of ISO9001 quality process requirements while managing department and resource compliance, have proven ability to convey a professional image while building and sustaining customer relationships, and must be comfortable presenting to executive leadership.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant experience.
Proven leadership and team building skills with the ability to motivate a diverse group of people to successfully complete strategic business objectives relating to product / project engineering.
Ability to organize, prioritize and assign work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated knowledge of ISO9001 quality process requirements.
Strong presentation and written communications skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Proven process management and process improvement skills.
Proficient with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
Employee may be required to travel infrequently for conferences, seminars, training and customer meetings or job site support.
