GCRF Job Family : Supply Chain & Logistics


The position is required to be a team player in highly demanding Supply Chain Org in a medical device and / or molecular in-vitro diagnostic company, responsible for leading all aspects of material movements from raw material, production, finished goods to dispatch.

Ensures all material movements in the manufacturing plant are happening as per the Medical Drug regulated industry guidelines and processes.

Teams up with Planning, Procurement and Logistics to ensure the right amount of inventory is available at the right time.

Analyses Inventory and receiving reports from Logistics and aligns with Finance to maintain accuracy of same.

Drives and follows up with Inbound and Outbound logistics for Ontime Raw Material and Finished Goods shipments.


  • Manages and co-ordinates with Planning, Procurement and Logistics to ensure timely availability of Direct and Indirect material required for production.
  • Central pivot and support between Supply Chain, Production and Quality at site.
  • Develop minimum inventory levels and escalates shortages well in advance to trigger procurement / planning of same.
  • Responsible to ensure all materials within the plant are moving and stored per GMP / Drug Regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversees and verifies the Inventory reports at every stage RM, WIP, NCR, & FG in alignment with Logistics and Finance.
  • Identify and propose Cost saving opportunities thru packaging optimization, storage space optimization and better inventory management. (VMI, JIT)
  • Implements Daily Management and Visual Management for tracking material movements at all levels.
  • Ensures co-ordination of material for daily operations, maintaining inventories, ordering supplies, preventing excess stock, eliminating non-usable items, and solving inconsistencies between inventory and stock records.
  • Verifies the production work orders follow the FIFO methodology and have the correct Batch Number, Manufacturing date, Expiry Date and Quantity.
  • Responsible for EHS related to material handling and material movement.
  • Analyses root cause and responsible for continuous improvement.
  • Supports Logistics and Stores in inventory management and control.
  • Effectively manages and bifurcates materials for Validations and Commercial production BOM and Non-BOM.
  • Teams with Procurement to follow-up of material with internal and external suppliers.
  • Define, measure and communicate project progress to leadership functions.
  • Critically identifies and Proposes new local logistics, warehousing and courier suppliers for site along with Procurement and Logistics.
  • Acts as an extended logistics support on site.
  • Supports monitoring of supplier Inventory and E&O and report to management in weekly / monthly basis.
  • Always supports the SCM Ops Program Manager for timely execution of tasks and projects.

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
  • Proactively request for trainings that are required to improve the existing job performance or as a part of development plan.
  • Drives Danaher Business Systems (DBS) culture

    Education and Experience (in years) :

  • Bachelors Degree preferably Engineering or in Science with Diploma in Materials Management
  • Min 5 years’ experience in Material Management at manufacturing site
  • Knowledge and skills :

  • Adept at managing Local and Global communications.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power Point, Agile, and SAP
  • Ability to read and interpret product Bill of Materials (BOM's)
  • Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems, Production Management Systems and Kanban.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to operate independent of day to day supervision
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience in Material Management, Warehouse Management , Inventory Management in a manufacturing plant.
  • Self-starter with the ability to adapt, critical thinking skills, and problem solve under pressure
  • Ability to understand and Negotiate Contract / Supply Agreement Negotiations
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Excellent negotiation skills required, based upon a solid professional ethical foundation.
  • Supporting new business proposals / opportunities with supplier technological inputs / information.
  • Must be able to professionally interact with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Ability to facilitate and effectively hold meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Travel as required
  • Physical requirements / abilities :

  • Must be able to work at manufacturing sites (brown field & green field sites)
  • Domestic and International travel as required
  • Other :

  • Added advantage to have knowledge of local languages Tamil & Kannada

  • Diploma in Materials Management
  • Experience on WMS and Kanban
  • Experience in Med-Tech industry in India.
  • Valid US Visa
  • SAP experience
