SVB is seeking a strategic, relationship driven and analytical individual to support our new Strategic Vendor Transformation Office (SVTO).

Our Vision is to develop a holistic strategic Vendor Transformation strategy focused on standardizing the management and maximizing the value of Strategic Partnership with a group of key suppliers.

Strategic Vendor Management Analyst provides support to all functions across Strategic Vendor relationships. This role will support sourcing process of a company through building relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers partnering with Third Party Risk Management and Sourcing.

This position will report to the Technical Process Director and support the Engagement Manager, who will be managing strategic vendor relationships.

    Support Strategic Technology Process Director and Engagement Managers across SVTO

  • Stay informed of SVB's high-level strategy and incorporate that into SVTO program operations to obtain deep understanding of services provided by Strategic Vendors and impact across the organization
  • Establish and manage their own daily work in support of priority tasks under Engagement Managers
  • Gather relationship-level performance info from key stakeholders. Monitor, use and enhance performance assessment templates
  • Uses Playbook to drive and maximize consistency in managing Vendor Relationships
  • Establish communication / escalation flow at the onset of the relationship for both the Vendor and SVB to ensure clear accountability and escalation guidelines to solve issues
  • Support SVTO management team in providing the leadership visibility to Vendor performance metrics and recommendations for adjustment to align with strategies
  • Monitor adherence to contracts and track upcoming expirations, ensure standardization of performance assessments, scorecard reporting, and evaluation of vendor tiering under vendor landscape
  • Establish and manage business reviews with critical vendors in coordination / alignment with Procurement and other key stakeholders.
  • Escalate business-critical issues effecting Operations and Management to manager as necessary.
  • Provide analysis and benchmark data and make recommendations on vendors considered for evaluation

    Stay informed of current activities and priorities. Independently manage daily tasks, prioritize based on criticality. Gather, use data for analysis and reporting as per the timeline and defined process.

    Adhere to playbook to drive consistency and timely delivery. Escalate issues based on RACI, and provided procedures, consult with management as needed.

    Proactively identify and track improvement opportunities with focus on quality of service and financial impact on SVB’s long-term strategy

  • Review performance assessments to determine where vendors are providing value and where gaps exist
  • Compare vendor core competencies against existing services provided
  • Ability to grasp complex issues quickly, coordinate resolution plan, and drive for resolutions
  • Support alignment and collaboration with critical stakeholders that establishes and maintains seamless contract processes and terms (Vendor, Compliance, Procurement, etc.).
  • Use and promote systems / tools needed to provide visibility and efficiency
  • Analyze spend data to understand size and scope of relationships
  • Monitor and update Strategic Technical Process Manager and Engagement Managers of daily progress
  • Escalate business-critical issues effecting Operations and Management to manager as necessary.
  • Help identify continuous improvement opportunities as well as mitigating and escalating issues

    Understand the size and the scope of strategic relationship. Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and contracts, report variances, generate reports, update management.

  • Structure and arrange key meetings with vendors and key stakeholders. Develop agenda items, communicate and document action items
  • Collect and analyze Vendor Risk Assessment info from Third-party Risk Management & Sourcing & Procurement for relationship-level Risk Assessments.
  • Generate and maintain reports

  • Provide guidance to internal and external partners when prioritizing initiatives
  • Perform market research to determine core competencies of existing vendors
  • Decisions (to be completed only for M1, P1-P3 positions or any position where there is a question regarding FLSA exemption status)
