The simulation should include a Photo Voltaic Array for power generation a battery and a control unit. the load would be connected to both grid connection and the battery.

The control unit for the microgrid should perform 3 cases Control Unit PCB Features : -

  • The PCB must measure the power coming from the battery which is connected to an inverter (P1)
  • The PCB must measure the power requirements of the load in real time (P2)
  • CASE 1 - If the power from the inverter is equal to or greater than the power requirements of the load then the power would be supplied from the battery connected to the inverter
  • CASE 2 If the power from the inverter is less than the load power requirements the load supply would be switched from the inverter supply to utility grid supply
  • CASE 3- The PCB should monitor the state of charge the battery and if the state of charge falls below 30% the battery should be charged by getting connected to the utility grid supply through the inverter and the load must be shifted to the grid
  • There should be a lcd screen to display parameters such as load power, power from the battery, battery state of charge and from where the load is drawing power The power that would be used is 220V, AC, 50HZ The simulation must be feasible to build in hardware also
