Department Overview :

MarkitSERV is the Trade Processing division of IHS Markit. MarkitSERV is a truly global business with staff across North America, Europe and Asia.

Individuals with the MarkitSERV Business Analysis team are deployed across various projects in the firm, and are expected to bring experience in the Business Analysis discipline in delivering against the project lifecycle.

The department is a critical functional area as part of the technology delivery organization, closely partnering with business orientated functions in delivering mission critical projects for the firm.

MarkitSERV provides a single gateway for OTC derivatives trade processing. By integrating trade confirmation, reporting, routing to clearing, allocation delivery and trade reconciliation, MarkitSERV provides an end-to-end solution for post-trade transaction management of credit, interest rate, equity and foreign exchange derivatives.

MarkitSERV also connects dealers and buy-side institutions to central clearing counterparties, trade repositories, and swap execution facilities.

Position Summary :

We are seeking a functional analyst to join our global business analysis team working on the Trade Manager platform. Trade Manager is a web-based application providing trade confirmation services for both electronically ineligible and eligible derivative trades to institutional buy side firms.

The successful candidate will be process oriented and have a thorough understanding of product development lifecycle. Prior experience in system migration and workflow analysis will be extremely beneficial.

Passion to learn new concepts / ideas will be a crucial.

The candidate will work independently or with other business analysts to deliver project changes. He / she will be required to interact closely with product managers, developers and testers in NY, London and Gurgaon to ensure successful delivery of key changes.

Duties and accountabilities :

  • Requirement gathering and Specification writing. Change requests are received from both internal and external sources, impact analysis and design must be factored into the process.
  • Integration of new products and processes into the Trade Manager platform
  • Utilize analytical tools to develop workflow and process flow diagrams
  • Assist testing teams with system and user acceptance testing
  • Act as a platform SME for client queries support teams. Expedite issues and resolve bugs
  • Assist identifying options for potential solutions, including assessment of technical and business suitability
  • Facilitate implementation of new functionality through training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate documentation (e.
  • g. XML mapping specifications, user implementation guides, etc.)

    Education and experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, MIS, Finance
  • Have at least four years of experience as a proven business analyst in a financial service, banking or technology domain
  • Strong working knowledge of requirements elicitation, structured analysis, stakeholder management, use case definition and other Business Analysis techniques
  • Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Understanding of XML and use of XML validation tools such as XMLSpy / Oxygen
  • Bonus point(s) :

  • FpML knowledge
  • Experience with one or more of rates, equity, credit or FX derivatives
  • Familiarity with MarkitWire or DSMatch / DeriveSERV platform
  • Experience with a buy side or sell side firm or as a vendor for one of these firms
  • Awareness of or involvement in regulatory projects (MIFID, EMIR, SFTR, etc.)
  • Commercial awareness

  • Experience in the financial markets
  • An understanding of financial derivatives terms and principals is required for the role
  • Management requirements
