Objective of the Sr. Oracle Applications DBA is to develop and maintain the corporate Oracle databases and EBS ensuring data integrity, security, retention, and recoverability of the data.
In this role, the Oracle DBA will design, build, test, and deploy database solutions that are consistent with standards and departmental best practices.
The Oracle DBA will design and implement database strategies, administer enterprise-wide data architecture and provide daily management of all corporate databases.
The Oracle DBA will create and maintain databases and configure the solutions / processes that maximize system availability, efficiency, recovery, and supportability.
Job responsibilities include :
All aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
Proficiency with network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
Responsible for evaluating patch releases from Oracle and patching requests from development, and communicating constraints, issues, and timelines for deployment.
Change management including maintenance of multiple development, test, QA, and production environments. Responsible for deploying approved changes to production.
24x7 rotational on-call support.
Proactive database monitoring and issue resolution.
Database and PL / SQL optimization including performance tuning, query optimization and supportability.
Participate and contribute to projects involving enterprise systems enhancements.
Implementation and ongoing support of high availability architecture (standby logical / physical clustering, Veritas, hot standby databases, etc.)
Create and maintain appropriate documentation about the database and the data architecture.
Regular proactive capacity planning and tending reviews of all oracle databases. Producing weekly, monthly reports.
Attending project kick-offs and design reviews as necessary to appropriately size new environments and implement recommend solutions
Develop and implement Database security policies and procedures, in line with corporate objectives.
Must have 8+ years Oracle Production DBA experience and EBS ( R12.1 and 12.2) working experience
Should have extensive experience in Oracle Applications upgrade to version R12 and new implementation projects
Oracle Application utilities (rapidwiz, adadmin, adpatch, adctrl, adodfcmp, adclone) Oracle Applications cloning methodology
Experience with at least one single database instances greater than 3TB is a big plus
Should have experience in high volume transaction environments
Significant experience with Oracle 12c architecture and database design, and related Oracle technologies on Linux systems
Experienced in Database backup using RMAN or Netbackup, OEM Grid Control, ASM, UNIX / Linux Shell Script, etc.
Database upgrades, Database Installation, Configuration and Patching
skills in PL / SQL, Unix Shell, tuning and debugging.
Experience with GRID manager, TOAD, and other Oracle tools.
Experience with Oracle database replication.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working with high demands and short deadlines.
Ability to prioritize heavy workload with minimum supervision.
Flexibility in working hours in line with project deadlines.
Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
