Strategic Marketing Manager - Products and Services team

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Strategic Marketing Manager to join our global Products & Services strategic marketing team.

It’s an exciting role where you will be responsible to help improve our customers buying experience and accelerate demand and sales in the market.

You will work with several stakeholders, from local sales to product line managers, in order to develop effective go-to-

market strategies and marketing plans. The role includes day-to-day management of projects, including campaign planning, execution and monitoring of the performance against key objectives.

To be successful in this role it requires outstanding marketing and leadership skills. You know how to define and position value to customers and have strong understanding the requirements of local sales units in growing the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with product lines to articulate the overall positioning message i.e. what value SKF brings to customers and how SKF differ to the customers alternatives.
  • Understand and drive the total SKF strategy including the R.E.P. and product value propositions across business areas.
  • Know how customers buy, what channels they prefer to use and what are the key touchpoints to SKF and our partners.
  • Provide direction to our MarCom counterparts to create relevant and valuable content to customers throughout their buying journey.
  • Working close with sales, segments and product lines, to develop effective go-to-market strategies and marketing programs that accelerate demand and enable sales win more business.
  • Prepare and execute marketing activities with local markets, measure and report on the implementation in relation to pre-set objectives.
  • Provide strong end-to-end project management and lead a team both centrally and locally, with resources from around the world.
  • Ensure members are on board with their delegated tasks.

    Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Business college or university in Marketing or a degree in Mechanical Engineering with several years’ experience in Marketing and / or Business Development.
  • Extensive experience of building global integrated marketing campaigns and evidence executing these in markets.
  • Experience in e-commerce is desired.
  • Have worked with agencies for campaign development and delivery.
  • Key competencies

  • Self-starter with strong drive and sense of urgency.
  • Solid business acumen with experience in local and global roles in multinational hub and spoke marketing organisation.
  • Passionate about customer value centric marketing.
  • Skills to position and build messages that serve multiple use cases and personas.
  • A holistic perspective and ability to create and execute effective go-to-market strategies and marketing programs including campaigns.
  • Competence in creating, documenting (quantifying) and preferably selling or promoting customer value.
  • Strong Knowledge of the industry, market challenges and applications.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in quantitative and qualitative customer research and effectively identifying and interpreting key findings.
  • Up to date or knowledge of current digital marketing strategies such as Influencer, Inbound Marketing and Content marketing.
  • Skills in project management as well as excellent communications skills : written, verbal and visual.
  • Agile and Flexible with knowledge and willingness to work for other SKF key Industries or Channels
  • Additional information

    The position holder can be based in one of SKF s major sites in Europe or Pune, India, but preferable in Gothenburg, Sweden and you will report directly to Manager, Product & Services Strategic Marketing Team.

    You need to be available for travel, especially when starting the roleas this will be critical to engage local units and build the network.

    Over time as the relations and structures are established your travelling will be reduced.
