Program manager plays the lead role in strategic IT initiatives of the enterprise, and serves as a subject matter expert / IT strategy consultant during the design & execution of the programs.
As a lead - manages the program plan, schedule, linked projects, budget, stakeholders, risk to meet business objectives.
As a subject matter expert - responsible for providing thought leadership in a wide range of technology projects to support the business priorities of the enterprise.
Also, serve as primary interface with the business users to analyse business needs, identify & prioritize requirements, and propose solutions.
He / she should be proactive in identifying potential areas where business processes / policies may require change. And must be confident in leading meetings, driving consensus with wide variety of stakeholders & comfortable with a constantly changing environment.
Define business case, business KPI targets, program plan, schedule, breakdown & structure projects linked with program participants and acts as management focal point for program-
related activities Establishes, maintains, and leads the development team, including establishment of program plans and enabling processes Drives program and project performance, (e.
g., delivery on commitments, quality, responsiveness, reliability, service, and development) and financial performance (e.
g., cost, budget, run cost, purchase orders, licenses & professional service contracts) Controls program scope, risks, issues, baseline changes, and net budget during design, development, throughout the program lifecycle.
