This position, under the general direction of the Sr. Engineering Manager Compliance Technology, will be responsible for writing and delivering secure and resilient code for our critical and very exciting Cloud-based compliance reporting solution for the Florida State.
In this role the candidate will design, implement, code, build, and test new features that include highly-available, secure, and performing components, data models, as well as customization and reporting features.
Working in an agile team, this position will have the opportunity to work on this critical project from inception to delivery.
As a Lead Software Engineer, the candidate is expected to fulfill the following responsibilities.
Lead Technically a Sprint team of 4 to 7 team members.
Be a Scrum Master for the daily Standup, get status from Team members, Give resolution for blockers.
Story point the Tickets, make Sprint commitments and deliver those on-time.
Understand requirements from the PM (Product Manager).
Assist the Testing team with testing the fixes.
Understand the PowerSchool SIS (Student information System) product over a period of time.
Expert in Java, J2ee and Object oriented concepts
At least 3 years of experience in AWS cloud development and worked on Amazon main technologies and services such as ECS / EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, AWS Kubernetes, Docker
Very Good work experience in SQL / PL / SQL / T-SQL.
Experience working with Database like Oracle or MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience using tools as SQL Developer, Perforce, Jira and Git.
Knowledge of Spring MVC, Hibernate, Webservices
Familiarity with Data Mart concepts
Problem solving and debugging skills
Build and deploy of web application on Application servers like Tomcat or JBoss.
Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience working in Agile / Scrum Teams.
Be a passionate learner, able to learn new tools, technologies, andservices quickly
Actively engage in all forms of communication with the team, sharing ideas, thoughts, and opinions constructively
Be able to find innovative solutions to solve complex problems
Write resilient scripts / code for new and existing systems to deliver quality artifacts on complex requirements and specifications in a consist manner
Have an in-depth understanding of how to write services that scale and perform
Familiar with OWASP threats and mitigation techniques
Be able to work under pressure and tight timelines
Have good communication skills and enjoy working on an agile team and dynamic environment
Have successfully used Source Control tools (ideally GIT / GitLab)
