The ERP Development Operations team is looking for passionate,innovative, high caliber, team-oriented super stars that seek being a majorpart of a transformative revolution in the development of modern business cloudbased applications.

We are seeking expert program managers in terms of skills,capabilities and proven delivery : individuals who seek out and implementimaginative and strategic, yet practical, solutions people who calmly takemeasured and necessary risks while putting customers first.

KeyTasks and Responsibilities

  • Providetechnical leadership and help drive cross-team software engineering efforts tobuild systems and services that improve operational efficiency, increasevelocity of product delivery, and drive reliability, scale and performance.
  • Evangelizeand educate Service Product Management and Service Development on the servicecentric, full stack approach and principles of SRE as well as the architecturesand solutions used for Oracle SaaS / ERP services.

  • Participatein the creation and improvement of processes, patterns and practices forincident response, postmortem / root cause analysis, end-
  • to-end repair itemdefinition, fixes in production. This includes both customer and internalcommunication throughout the entire process.

  • Guideteams in design decisions making for some of the largest scale distributedsystems in the world ensuring that customer need, business need, and technicalneeds are met throughout the decision processes.
  • Providedirection and prioritization to service Product Management and ServiceDevelopment teams to engineer and add premier SRE capabilities to the OracleSaaS / ERP services.
  • Partnerwith Service Assurance and Test Engineering to ensure that monitoring,security, resiliency, scale, and performance are represented as a first class,testing priority in the overall testing strategy.
  • oYou will ensure that the testing requirementsinclude both positive and negative testing techniques for these SRE areas.

    oYou will ensure that testing requirements andthe requirement backlog are curated on an ongoing basis using data drivenmethods that leverage fleet and customer feedback (eg.

    SRs, Bugs / ERs) and thatthese insights are translated into testing changes / investments.

  • Maintain positiveand efficient working relationships within ERP and with other Oracle divisions andbusiness units.
  • Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years of software development experience, with demonstrated knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build and release processes, continuous deployment, and test suite development and maintenance.
  • 7+ years ofprevious people management experience
  • Domainknowledge in one or more of financial services, project management, and / or highereducation is a plus.

    oMotivate and lead cross-functional teams.

  • 2+ years practical experience deployingand running largescale online systems built on Cloud platforms such as OracleCloud, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and / or OpenStack
  • Experience designing andimplementing solutions for platform and application layer telemetry, monitoring,scalability, performance and reliability.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experiencewith Java, C# / C++ and SQL dialects, as well as JavaScript / TypeScript, andReact; T-SQL and PowerShell experience is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with the fullsoftware development lifecycle (SDLC), in particular withAgile and iterative development practices and associated tools such as JIRA.
  • Automation experience(test, integration, build / release, etc.) in a distributed environment.
  • oKnowledge of testing methodologies, the testingpyramid (i.e., Unit, Integration, UI, E2E, etc.), and how they are applied in aCI / CD environment.

    oFamiliar with Test Driven Development and BehaviorDriven Development.

  • Troubleshooting skills acrossnetwork, application, caching, queuing, load-balancing, storage and distributedservices layers.
  • Ability to analyze network andperformance monitor traces, application performance problems, and Windowsapplication and crash-dump debugging.
  • Ability to conceptualize a distributedservice, its dependencies and the transactional flow when troubleshooting.
  • Experience providing technicalleadership and architectural guidance to teams working on complex softwareprojects.
  • Provensuccess in contributing in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, with theability to establish and nurture relationships between multiple teams andnavigate dependencies.
  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills, including the ability to communicate technical content toboth technical and non-
  • technical peers, customers, and at times, executiveleadership.

  • Experience with monitoring alertingusing technologies like Prometheus, Sensu, Nagios, Kafka, Wavefront, BigPanda,DataDog, and / or PagerDuty.
  • Experience implementing, designing,deploying : Docker, Kubernetes, and Serverless (Lambda’s).
  • Experience with Oracle Linux, RedHatLinux, Ubuntu, Centos, CoreOS, and / or Amazon Linux.
  • Experience with one or moreorchestration, deployment tools, e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible,Packer, and / or Chef.
  • Experience with one or more CItools : Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, Artifactory.
  • Experiencewith configuration management systems such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Detailed Description and Job Requirements

    Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

    As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications.

    Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture.

    Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy.

    Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development.

    BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
