Role Summary :

We are looking to grow our team of Artificial Intelligence Computer Vision researchers within the Artificial Intelligence Technology Discipline at GE Global Research in Bangalore.

We are looking for top notch researchers at all career levels who want to be part of this exciting journey. As a group, we Innovate and execute on the R&D strategy around image analytics aligned with the GEHC business initiatives in a broad areas of Patient monitoring, MRI, CT, U / S, X-Ray, Molecular Diagnostics).

Essential Responsibilities :

GE Global Research (GRC) is the central research arm for the GE company and is one of the oldest and most diverse industrial research labs.

It performs strategic and longer-term R&D for all GE businesses, in addition to providing technology development and R&D support for new product introduction.

It employs roughly 2,000 employees at two global locations in almost every scientific and engineering discipline.

GRC has played a central role in the growth and expansion of the Healthcare business through breakthrough innovation and critical technology development.

From the invention of the first practical x-ray tube, the first 1.5T clinical MR scanner, the first digital x-ray imager and numerous inventions in MRI, CT and ultrasound to more recent programs in areas such as physiological monitoring, cell therapy technologies and molecular pathology, GRC has often laid the technology foundation for the growth of GE Healthcare.

GRC also plays a central role in identifying adjacent spaces for business growth and often spearheads technology development in these spaces to establish a footprint for the business.

Personalization in healthcare has been identified as a key growth area for GE Healthcare (GEHC) and GRC is playing a key role in this regard.

There are on-going, multi-disciplinary programs in digital and molecular pathology, tissue imaging, diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT, PET, Ultrasound), physiological monitoring (ECG, US, EEG, etc.

and informatics approaches to identify clinically relevant biosignatures. We at GE Global Research Center believe that AI has the ability to quickly and more accurately identify signs of disease in medical images, like MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, and x-

rays, and therefore allow faster diagnostics and positively impact the patient outcomes. Our teams are leading the AI effort in advancing the care pathway, such as improving the organization of treatment plans, analyzing data to provide better treatment plans, and monitoring treatments.

AI will play a central role in this initiative with breakthroughs resulting in image interpretations, identifying imaging biomarkers for many applications including tissue characterization, and analyzing physiological data for patient care solutions.

  • Ray, Cell therapy, Molecular Diagnostics, etc.).

  • Drive cutting edge research in core imaging and signal processing problems
  • Participate in strategic collaborations with top universities and pharma / biotech
  • Publish in key conferences and journals, as well as generate core IP.
  • Qualifications / Requirements :

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering / Electronics and communication engineering / Computer science / Biomedical engineering with specialization in image processing, signal processing, or inverse problems.
  • The Master’s candidate with proven research credentials in the fields of AI are also highly encouraged to apply. Specific areas of expertise desired are : Medical Image analytics, Inverse problems in Imaging, Clinical decisioning, super resolution reconstruction.

  • Expertise in at least one of C, C++, Python or Java
  • Strong foundations in design, analysis, and implementation of algorithms. Basic understanding of machine learning, computer vision or deep learning is preferred.
