Maintains flower beds and grounds on camp.

POSITION TITLE : Gardener

LOCATION / DEPT : Camp Wonderland

REPORTS TO : Maintenance Manager

FLSA CATEGORY : Non-Exempt

STATUS TYPE : Part-Time

MISSION

The Salvation Army Wonderland Camp and Conference Center exists to support the ministry of the Salvation Army by providing the opportunity to experience Christ through focused programs in a natural, safe, camp conference environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintaining the flowerbeds in good condition (watering, weeding, hoeing, preparing soil.)

Assist in trimming shrubs and maintaining grounds around shrubs and buildings

Assist in maintaining grounds in a clean and attractive condition

Be responsible for maintaining trade tools (cleaning and location).

Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Groundskeeper with other assigned duties.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED preferred.

Minimum age of 19 years old.

COMPETENCIES

Experience in general grounds and flower garden work.

Desire to work out of doors in lawn and garden work.

Ability to accept authority and responsibility.
