Business / Department Objectives :

The role of AVP will support our APAC business partners & Regional Initiatives

The key requirement for the role is the ability to understand the business, develop data-driven solutions to address business problems and independently manage end-

to-end project communication with business partners, mentor junior analysts, lead by example etc. and display a proactive learning attitude

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are looking for a challenging career in data management. The individual should have a strong technical background with a good mix of banking knowledge in the areas of Cards & Retail.

The individual should be controls and process oriented with excellent technical and communication skills and excels in a high pressure, fast-

paced environment. The candidate must be able to work well in a team environment and leverage existing skill-sets in the team to achieve team goal

Core Responsibilities :

One of the core responsibilities is to enable build of a strong foundational data layer for APAC, which includes developing data repositories in in RDBMS & Big Data Platforms

Support business with Ad Hoc and long terms projects for data ingestion and ensure data is made available in a timely manner to data consumers

Activities involved include :

Actively participate in Design and architecture of Data Layers

Liaise with technology teams and country / business stakeholders while building the information repositories

Lead data exploration and data profiling capabilities in conventional and new age data sources

Build a team of SMEs who can act as "Data owners / Stewards"

Manage a team of analysts who can help build the technical mapping and act as a bridge between business and technology

Defining best practices and coding standards

Communication and Relationship :

Independently manage end-to-end project updates and partner communication across the various levels in the organization.

It is extremely critical to develop and maintain smooth relationship with partners across business units

Team Management :

Manage a team of 8-10 analysts

Coach all team members by sharing Business, Functional and Technical expertise

Day-to-Day Responsibilities :

The lead is expected to :

Be a direct interface of the team with the various stakeholders

Understand the business requirements and data definitions for all KPIs

Participate in design and architecture of data repositories

Lead data exploration and data profiling activities from multiple sources

Lead data validation exercise across multiple sources

Ensure consistency of metrics across multiple sources and define the data quality standards of the team

Define and adherence to coding standards

Manage / Mentor a team of Analysts

Design and development of Data Management solutions

Participate in data initiatives to stream line processes, data enrichment and improve the data quality of the reporting process

Share best practices developed in the processes across Information solutions group

Identify opportunities to create to deliver value add to the business and lead them

Key Deliverables :

Design and development of foundational data layers in RDBMS and big data platforms

On-time delivery and quick TAT, multi-taskand manage multiple projects independently and helps junior analystsdeliver, provide technical / functional guidance as required

Define & Own business definition of KPIs across countries

Develop and maintain metadata dictionaries Communication :

Effectively communicate strategic considerations with team, partners and senior management

Share best practices across SIS groups and implement best practices, drive dataand analytics solutions

Presentation of results to business partners and COE senior management

Relationship Management : Interact regularly with Partner leadership to set and manage expectations aligned to group capabilities and work to deepen existing relationships

Technical :

Established competency in the following :

10+ years of relevant work experience with extensive knowledge of Data Management principles and Information Systems development, with particular emphasis in the use of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Architectures

Career must evidence the following experiences

Program managing Data management activities

Previous experience in similar roles Handling large volume of data,

Hands-On knowledge on the following technologies - Advance SAS, UNIX, Hive, PySpark etc

Excellent functional knowledge in Cards & Retail

Business :

Good exposure to Financial Services businesses

Possess and apply sound decision-making disciplines

Good project management skills and leadership potential

Excellent influencing skills and People Orientation

Strong English language presentation and communication skills

Be able to engage with staff up to the most senior levels within an organization, and to communicate complex technology in a business centric way
