Role Overview :

Qualifications & Experience

  • BS / MCA / BE degree and / or equivalent experience.- 5-8 years' experience as a information developer, preferably in the product software industry.
  • Competencies / Skill sets required for the role :

    Must have- Excellent writing skills. Topic-oriented, structured writing a plus.

  • Excellent project- and time-management skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and develop and maintain own schedules.
  • Ability to work either as lone writer on a product team of programmers, QA engineers, project managers or to collaborate closely with other writers as needed.
  • Familiarity writing for a network administrator audience.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, processes, and concepts.-
  • Tools :

    XMetal, DITA Open Toolkit- Knowledge of XML, XSLT, CSS, Content Management System

  • Working knowledge of SVN and VSSCompetencies / Skill sets required for the role
  • Experience working with translators and localization specialists planning and maintaining localization schedules.
  • Knowledge of other publishing and office software such as FrameMaker, Visio, Photoshop or Paintshop Pro, MindMaps,
  • Familiarity with Virtualization, Data Center, Internet and networking security technologies and concepts.
  • Ability to innovate, seek process improvements, come up with brilliant solutions.

    You will work as part of an international team of writers to plan, write, and edit customer facing instructional and maintenance content for electronic and web-based publications.

    The position is based in our Bangalore office. You will collaborate regularly with Program Management, engineers, editors, localization coordinators, product managers, project managers, and other specialists in Europe, North America, and Asia.

    Using DITA 1.1, XMetaL, and a content management system to produce documentation that conforms to a defined process and style guide.

    Content is technical by nature, supporting our customer base of Security Administrators across all industries and government sectors.

    You must be a self-motivating and self-managing writer who can learn complex technologies quickly and manage the entire process of writing top-quality documentation from start to finish.

    You will work with product teams to define documentation requirements and gather technical content. You will produce drafts for review and produce a final release.

    Regular deliverables include installation and product guides, online Help and release notes.

    Required Experience :

  • Engineering or Bachelors in a computing related degree, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of technical writing experience, writing user documentation
  • Excellent planning, research and writing skills
  • Time management skills
  • Structured authoring skills
  • Solid knowledge of single-source documentation projects
  • Good to have :

  • Experience with cloud technology
  • Experience working with localization specialists
  • Experience authoring in XML
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Experience with enterprise software
  • Experience with web security products
  • Experience with virtual environments
  • Experience in writing as part of an Agile development team
  • Ability to innovate, seek process improvements, and come up with solutions

  • MWG Classic Monthly Updates and Minor releases every 4 months (Engr lead may transition to MIC in coming months but will still be joint in nature with Paderborn)
  • MWG Mowgli Updates as and when required (will remain in Paderborn)
  • WGCS the old Hybrid solution on ePO cloud updated as an when required
  • WGCS New Web Management Console as part of UCE
  • UCE Track C which a mixture of tasks coving multiple topics from Multi Cloud, Remote Browser Isolation, etc. Currently releases every 5 weeks and Major updates for BH and MPower
  • Editorial assistance on internal products, e.g. GAM and then subjects covered by PST - IAM, Mowgli, GRM, GPS, Telemetry TAU
