Job Description :
Maxim is seeking an IC Design Engineer to support the full product life cycle. Our goal is to design and develop industry’s leading state of art analog centric products.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
Design and Develop Industry leading analog products in power management domain. Primarily work on DC-DC regulators like Buck converters, Boost Converters, Buck-Boosts, LDOs, and Charge-Pumps etc.
Product ownership including transistor level design, block architecture, design partitioning and full chip delivery. Develop creative architectural and transistor level solutions.
Work with product definition and business management to understand customer requirements and help define product specifications.
Negotiate with internal & external customers to prioritize projects and needs.
Create impact on business by driving flawless execution on IC-design. Understand market needs and customer requirements.
Work with customers to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback during and after projects is complete.
Thoroughly verify designs using circuit-level, behavioral-level simulations and top-level AMS verifications
Design and analyze reliability / robustness of IC for ESD, latch-up, MAX-ratings, noise coupling etc.
Lead and guide layout staff to realize high quality and high precision physical implementation of circuits.
Validate silicon performance in lab with debugging and characterizing the performance and parameters
Execute project with team members independently. Complete complex projects on schedule.
Write circuit documentation. Support production test development. Ongoing customer support as needed.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering
Strong analog and mixed-signal IC design fundamentals. Good knowledge of basic analog circuit topologies and layout.
Well versed with analog EDA tools. In-depth knowledge of analog and mix-signal processes with Bipolar, MOS and LDMOS. Good understanding of device physics and device cross-section.
Solid understanding of DC-DC topologies such as buck, boost, buck-boost, charge pump, LDO. Expertise in various power control architectures such as current mode, voltage mode, on-time, hysteretic etc.
Good system level knowledge for deciding external components such as inductors and capacitors and their parameter values.
Ability to budget time, manage schedule and complete complex IC design on time with little to no supervision. Must have worked on multiple analog products.
Understanding of semiconductor IC processing, semiconductor packaging, and production test solutions
Working experience in lab using power supplies, source meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other lab equipment.
Experience working with production test engineers to firm up design for test and test plan details
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proactive, collaborative, and creative approach to innovation, technical development and consensus facilitation to influence optimal project results. Strong team player.
