An exciting opportunity to lead the cloud adoption for an innovative startup powered by machine learning.

We need someone to lead and build a new greenfield cloud native product where you will be responsible for choosing the appropriate technologies to use along the way.

This is a growth position, starting with leading the development of this new product but with a view of providing hands-on technical leadership across multiple areas as we scale and move our platform into the cloud.

We are small startup that is providing a leading growth platform for direct-to-consumer eCommerce brands. As a small startup there are significant opportunities to get involved in many areas including working directly with the CTO to produce and iterate on the technical strategy for the company.

Who are you?

  • Experienced in delivering constant improvement to the delivery processes, enablement and growth of others
  • Cloud development experience in a devops approach - Infrastructure as code, CI / CD, distributed systems, cloud native data storage, observability, cloud security, self-healing architectures
  • Working as a senior or lead or principal or staff engineer who is passionate about building operationally sustainable and scalable architectures
  • Expert in at least one high-level language
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and uses a lean development approaches to learn fast and pivot when needed
  • Looking to step in a technical leadership role and grow the team through mentoring, coaching and collaborative development practices
  • Comfortable designing scalable and supportable cloud native architectures in either AWS, Azure or GCP
  • You are product-focused and have a pragmatic approach to engineering, prioritising delivering value to our customers
  • Interview process

  • Quick 30 min call to give us an opportunity to tell you more about the role
  • 1hr System design interview - We want to know about how you problem solve, this will be a real problem with many right answers and we want to see how you explore those.
  • 1hr Leadership, collaboration and delivery interview - We want to hear about examples of where you have done things that you are proud and equally where there were problems.
  • 30 minutes with our CEO to ensure our values match with your own.
