In this leadership role, you serve as a senior technical resource for the organization, regularly interacting with other senior managers.
You are an internally recognized expert in Modeling & Simulation, and applying that expertise to packaging development and packaging engineering.
In this role, you identify, define and solve complex problems by applying modeling and simulation tools, and other digital technologies, to improve the team's effectiveness at solving packaging challenges related Mondelēz products.
How you will contribute
You will lead packaging projects or teams to define, build, execute, and improve model and simulations solutions. To do so, you apply industry-leading technologies and tools, partner with internal resources and leverage supplier relationships.
To excel in this position, you will deliver solutions on time and on budget using project management methodologies and providing status updates to stakeholders.
You will also provide technical leadership for Modeling & Simulation and digital technologies by : continually updating your business-relevant expertise;
driving the technical development of people by teaching, coaching, mentoring and identifying future technical leaders; defining and sharing technical best practices, and influencing the technical direction of the RDQ community.

Works with engineers & scientists to define complex technical challenges to be solved.
Defines needs for data to build the simulation and works with analytical team or external organizations to collect the information required, this may require making and measuring products themselves.
Uses appropriate software tools to build simulations, including model construction, meshing, solvers, and post-processing.
Ensure simulations are validated against experimental data, this may include running or managing the experiments or trials required.
Communicates outputs from the simulation and works with engineering and R&D teams to ensure learning is embedded in the business quickly to speed up innovation and optimization.
Write and builds best practice documentation from learnings discovered
Develops simplified software tools for others to use based on the simulations.
Researches and keeps up to date with developments in simulation and material characterization.
Supervises research projects to develop further simulation techniques or material characterization, both internally and externally.
Maintains and develops simulation resources including hardware and software updates, working with IT department to maintain security and back-up systems.
Project management that is action orientated with the demonstrated ability to handle multiple, complex projects, prioritize, and manage budgets, risk and timelines
Thinking and working globally, with a strong curiosity to look outside for new ideas and solutions
Influencing the technical direction of the business to deliver benefit using organizational awareness and clear communication
Education / Certifications :
Masters in Engineering, such as, Computational Mechanics, Engineering Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
Extensive professional experience with most recent role in Finite Element Analysis.
The FEA role includes simulation, from defining the problem though to validation and communicating output, ideally using Ansys software
Strong fundamental understanding of material science from brittle to very soft solids.
Ability to communicate complex problems to simply to a non-technical audience with business relevant context; Expectation for strong verbal and written presentation skills.
