We are part of the Systems Technology Group in the Database Server Technologies. We focus on database performance using complete Oracle software stacks like FusionApps, E-
Business Suite, PeopleSoft applications, Siebel, Fusion Middle Ware apps, Oracle Collaboration Suites and other applications.
The performance and scalability of the latest database are upstream performance tested in the in-house lab. The focus is to find out upstream the stack-
dependency issues, incompatibilities, scalabilty & performance issues, using multi-user customer-like workloads. We also design, develop, debug and enhance benchmark workloads.
The candidate will have an opportunity to work thoroughly with all aspects of the Oracle Database and Exadata. Work involves installing, and configuring Oracle product Suites, deploying & running customer like scalable work-
loads, gathering stats and analyzing stack-wise scalability & performance bottlenecks. This is a very hands-on technically focused group.
The ideal candidates will have very strong analytic skills and an interest in understanding the many factors that affect the performance of a complex software system.
The person should be comfortable working at a peer level with high level engineers and should be able to drill down into issues to find the root causes of the problems and be able to identify opportunities for improvement.

The team is also heavily involved in the R&D phase of new development projects. We are involved at all levels of the product cycle from early feasibility studies, research into performance benefits of advanced technologies, performance testing of prototypes as well as performance QA during the development cycle for key new database features using the complete application stack.
All the work is to be carried out in a dedicated lab. These positions require patience and a deep knowledge of RDBMS, OS, Java, cpu / memory profiling tools, database and optimizer performance analysis using tracing / AWR / ASH / SQLMonitors, as well as strong coding skills, especially in modern scripting languages and load generation tools.
A background in any of the Oracle Software stacks is desirable. The drive to excel, the ability to innovate are the qualities we are fond of.
With the move to the Cloud and Autonomous Databases, it is critical to evaluate the performance of autonomous features using real customer like workloads on systems in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems.
Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel.
BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
