They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes;
conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp.
The R&D / Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D / 3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements.
They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
Typical fields of expertise include materials, mechanics, and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical, and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Mechanical Engineer is responsible for VAVE project execution from ideation and implementation of the savings
The position conceives cost reduction ideas from existing products and develops them into practical and economical models.
Incumbent’s major activities are in the areas of design, development, testing, and manufacturing of connectors, products, and systems.
Job Description : RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for design for cost for existing products
Conduct product teardowns, benchmark analysis and cost analysis to innovate cost reduction ideation
Performs activities concerned with design, development, manufacturing, and testing.
Conceives ideas for cost reduction and use the engineering tools to create models and drawings, introduce your concept to team and work with the team to develop an acceptable concept into practical product.
Determines specifications, performs engineering analyses, makes preliminary sketches and design, coordinate and support operations such as fabrication of prototypes and testing.
Collaborate with plant, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and all cross functional teams to implement the cost reduction ideas
Manage and take responsibility for documentations and records such as the Drawings Data File’ or Design History File’ and Engineering Change Requests / Notifications
Initiate necessary engineering analysis like FEA
Assess technical complaints and solve problems during further development
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor' Degree in engineering is Required (Mechanical preferred)
Understanding the principles of LeanPD
Knowledge about NPD & VAVE project execution
Good knowledge on
Work experience on structure design and manufacturing Engineering, connector design experience is preferred
Be able to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
Familiar with CAD tools like Pro / Engineer, PDMLink and other similar engineering tools
Good understanding of manufacturing processes like molding, stamping, plating, assembly.
Understanding product validation and testing specification requirements
Excellent Communication Skills
Ability to understand and work out complex technical solutions
Capabilities on failure mode cause analysis
Good knowledge on manufacturing methods like stamping , molding.
Capability of creative, analytical and structured thinking with the ability to execute
Good presentation skills not only in front of colleagues but also customers
Basic understanding about the high-speed signal requirements
Basic knowledge in 6 sigma design
Hands on experience on product teardowns and benchmark analysis
Good knowledge on developing DVP, DFMEA, Functional block diagrams
