Collaborate closely with product developers to ensure that the designed solution responds to non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security and maintainability
Split time between operations / on-call duties and developing systems and software that help increase site reliability and performance
Create a bridge between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration topics
Excellent problem-solving skills, identifying weak spots in complex software system architectures and making improvements in the code bases and infrastructure to address the faults
Experience with Cloud based applications and advanced microservice architecture concerns
Experience with Microsoft and Linux Server management
Experience with VMWare or other Virtual Server Software
Experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g., C# or Java)
Experience in configuration and maintenance of applications such as web servers, load balancers, relational databases, storage systems and messaging systems
Experience with MongoDB, MySQL, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ and others
Experience with operating systems and TCP / IP network fundamentals
Experience learning software, frameworks and APIs
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform
Experience with Key servers, Vault, Influx, Grafana, AlertSite
Ability and willingness to work evenings / nights on occasion
