Job Description and Qualifications
To deliver safe, fit for purpose civil / structural designs to an agreed schedule to meet a pre agreed budget.
Nature and Scope
The job holder is one of the key members of the design team having responsibility for the civil and structural design. Based on the execution strategy the job holder will be responsible for civil and structural design on projects.
Responsible for 1000 to 5 000 C&S man-hours pa.
Responsible for review of corresponding documents.
A C&S Engineer acts as the technical interface with AP project execution teams for C & S designs. The primary purpose is the delivery of a safe, fit for purpose plant design to an agreed schedule and budget.
Providing support to other AP engineering centers as workload requires.
Safety and rigorous adherence to relevant specifications and standards for all C&S designs.
Accountable for the engineering scope adherence in accordance with project specifications & standards.
Implementation of quality procedures and contribute to continuous implementation of improvement activities. C&S scope definition, estimation & forecasting, planning, review / check / approval, document control and review, scope control and other activities necessary for project execution
Design of equipment foundations like compressors, pumps, static equipment, storage tanks, cooling tower basin & sump etc.
Building designs MCC rooms, Control rooms etc,
Other civil designs - Design of underground services, roads, civil pipe supports, water tanks, misc foundations
Steel structure designs (technological structures, pipe racks, platforms, ladders etc.)
Experience of modular steel structures is desirable.
Issuing civil and steel packages for contractor selection and construction.
Effectively communicate by email, .ppt or face to face’ AP’s execution strategies, schedule issues and project requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
An Engineering Degree (or equivalent) and work experience of 5-7 years.
Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills
Experience of working on industrial plants.
Must be familiar with an engineering organization, the function of each discipline and how they interact and the function of the various support groups globally.
Experienced working to Indian and global codes, preferably US & Euro codes
Experienced working with software such as Staad pro
Experienced designing large foundations considering seismic and dynamic factors.
Experience of designing equipment foundations like compressors, pumps, pressure vessels, cooling towers, storage tanks etc
Experience in designing steel structures like pipe racks, technological structures, compressor sheds, platforms etc.
