The Software Development Team Lead will be part of an agile development team, building and working on software systems. The Software Development Team Lead will provide technical and team leadership through coaching and mentorship.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Collaborate with other software developers and quality analysts to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web- and desktop-based applications
Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans.
Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
Working closely with Project Manager to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery
Provide regular and effective progress updates to and work closely with Project Manager to ensure the management of any delivery risks or issues
Define delivery phases of the project including activities, sub-activities, and milestones ensuring these are documented and used as the basis for the project event log, issues and risk log and any subsequent reporting
Ensure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle
Ownership, development and management of allocated departmental processes
Work on a wide range of projects involving the implementation of new and existing systems, solutions and processes
Recruit, mentor and manage an effective software engineering team
Ensure that the team's technical product documentation is always complete, accurate and coherent
Define, lead and encourage continuous improvement of the teams delivery and development processes
Work with project manager to design software and create implementable specifications and tasks at product and roadmap level
College or University degree in Computer Science / IT Engineering or a related discipline
Experience in formal personal development planning and individual, team and process performance management
Experience of supporting, modifying and maintaining systems and code developed by others
Expertise in test driven development and broader testing and QA concerns
Recruitment, management and mentoring experience
5+ years- experience as a Software Developer
