We are looking for an Engineering Manager II to write the next chapter in our Core Platform Engineering team. You will have complete ownership of technical and product roadmap work closely with Product, Business and Operations teams.

You will be responsible for scoping, architectural design, working with other technology teams and running the iterative rollout of features.

All the systems we build / manage are critical to the success of the business. This means quality and reliability are paramount and large scale launches have to be threaded carefully without impacting day-2-day business.

As part of Core Platform Team, you will oversee a variety of technologies and development practices to build a stable and seamless checkout flow for our customers, mentor and grow engineering teams, integrate with various payment partners and secure our users’ payment information.

The kind of stuff you’ll be doing :

Managing, mentoring and growing a team of talented engineers to execute on our business goals

Act as a technical lead both within and outside your immediate team and be an effective communicator, cross-team problem solver - driving consensus, and developing plans.

Unraveling the myriad of payment technologies and methods available globally

Designing and maintaining high-performance RESTful web services for processing payments

The kind of experience we're looking for :

BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science and 8+ years of equivalent engineering experience

1+ years of experience in leading a team of engineers

Experience in designing and implementing large, scalable distributed systems

Ability to architect, design and develop complex systems

Experience in server-side languages (e.g. Java, Ruby, Python) and one dynamic scripting language (e.g. Ruby, PHP, Python, Perl)

Experience with SQL database programming and performance

Passion for ensuring high quality architecture and customer experience.
