Preferred Qualifications

As a Senior Production Application DBA, you will help us to solve a variety of deployment, scale, design and performance issues related to our mission critical, fast-growing Cloud Marketing Platform. We are seeking a teammate who is self-starter, strive for success in professional career and capable to resolve data design, performance, and stability issues in a fast-paced, volatile working environment. This is an extremely hands-on position to demonstrate competency to drive results, perseverance and knowledge of infrastructure operations, distributed computing, high volume transaction processing, large scale system design and SQL performance Tuning in 24/7 operation support environment.


SQL performance analysis, with the goal to optimize poorly performing query to reduce the resource impact on the shared multiple tenants database environment.
Database performance analysis, distinguishing between customer implementation issues vs infrastructure issues.
Ensure solution/recommendation are based upon sound architectural principles and performance best practices in a multi-tiered, shared schema Oracle RDBMS environment.
Provide detailed troubleshooting analsysis documentation and make recommendation of how to improve overall SQL performance in terms of campaign design and implementation and SQL tuning.
Effectively collaborate with other Product/Operation Support teams and Prodct Engineering team to resolve performance and design issues.
Contribute to the 24/7 on-call and maintenance rotation.
Document and implement Standard Operations Procedure to improve operation efficiency and effectiveness.
Participate regular/impromptu meeting upon request.
Submit product enhancement request and participate follow-up meeting/discussion.
Provide consultancy of SQL/Database performance question/issue.
Write shell script, PL/SQL, SQL code for daily operations for supported platform.


BS in a technical area with minimum 5 years’ experience in large scale internal mission critical IT or SaaS operations. Proven skill set with a majority of the following:
Production system/dadtabase monitoring and troubleshooting.
Data modeling for relational database.
Understanding of Oracle RDBMS concept and SQL tuning principles.
Knowledge of how to use tools related to SQL tuning such as AWR, SQL Monitoring, SQL Trace, SQL Plan Management, Execution Plan.
Performing root cause analysis for SQL performance issue.
Capable to write shell script, SQL, PL/SQL code.
Comfotable for 24x7 on-call rotation.
Participate internal/external meeting.

Technical Skills:

Familiar with Linux basic commands.
Understanding of Oracle RDBMS concept.
Write efficient SQL, PL/SQL code.
Data modeling for relational database.
Experience with SQL tuning and analysis in an Oracle RDBMS environment, specifically:
Large scale DML operations.
DDL operations.
Utilizing Oracle Optimizer hints.
Usage and debugging of Oracle PL/SQL and SQL
Interpret AWR Report, Execution plan and SQL Trace.
SQL Mornitoring.

Preferred Technical Skills:

Advanced Linux scripting skill.
Experience with Java programming and support Java environment.
Experience with support and usage for Responsys Interact product.
Experience with support and usage for CrowdTwist product.
Experience with git, docker container, kubernates.
Customer facing experience, as the role may require direct communications with customers. The ideal candidate will have previous consulting or services experience.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.

Provide Development and/or Production support. This includes creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans. Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs. Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new or improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM*s or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired.
