What you’ll do

As a Principal Engineer you will be working with a team of skilled, innovative and passionate engineers in creating cutting edge software solutions for creating and maintaining digital maps.

You lead the team in creating breakthrough solutions, advancing agile development principles and improving engineering practices.

You are responsible for the successful creation of ground-breaking software solutions, while delivering customer value, with high quality along with continuous personal advancement.

You are asked to deliver the following :

  • Skills and experience in technical leadership, with the ability to translate business requirements into software design.
  • Ability to analyze problems at an abstract level and decompose them into logical parts.
  • Expert level experience of modern object-oriented languages, practical knowledge of object-oriented design principles and testing practices
  • Appreciation of highly distributed systems’ behavior and performance, and the ability to create and deliver non-functional requirements.
  • Assist in creating and reviewing product design documents to ensure compliance with architecture standards.
  • Guide the team to arrive at an optimal design
  • Drive technical design discussions
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers on coding best practices
  • Extensive SQL and No-SQL Database experience.
  • Eagerness to learn complex systems and their behaviors.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Desire for continuously improving your skills.
  • Open mind and readiness to discuss details of the system your team is building.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast changing environment.
  • To be passionate about programming, always eager to learn and improve your skills
  • Experience in at least one object oriented language preferably Java
  • Knowledge of modern programming technologies and approaches (OOP, Design Patterns, SOLID principles, TDD, Service Oriented Architecture etc.)
  • Ability to analyze problems and decompose them into logical parts
  • Familiarity with Linux environment
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • To be team-oriented to be able to communicate with other team members, express doubts, provide and accept constructive feedback
  • Good communications skills in English
  • What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field and must have min. 13+ years of experience with a proven track record in technical roles
  • Expert hands on knowledge of latest technology, good exposure to web technologies and open to all technologies (like but not limited to Java, J2EE, Hibernate, Spring, Flex, HTML, CSS, Oracle, PostGreSQL, or other databases)

  • Proven track record with complex architectural designs and getting them developed / deployed
  • Very good exposure to devops concepts and tools, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
  • Quick learner, believes in continuous learning and acts as a catalyst for building the culture within the organization
  • Analytical thinking skills, problems solving with strong exposure to root causing tools and techniques and ability to come up with win-
  • win solutions in complex business situations,

  • Hands on experience of handling (or at least being major part of) complex business situations and enterprise level software products
  • Thinker can come up with ideas and has the courage and perseverance to bring them to reality
  • Puts the team before self, believes in and is capable of building strong teams across units and rallying team’s support for a cause
  • Leads from the front, empowers his / her teams to taken their own decisions.
